  1. Where are you on the west coast? I am too. If you are in CA I tell you a few places to get lye for great prices. I paid $37 for 50lb from a chemical company called Gallade. You can't beat .05 an ounce. It seems to smell less than Red Devil too after it is mixed. I'm glad I found the new stuff.

I'm in Portland, OR. I saw on another thread that Robin has a supplier in Fresno. Can't remember the name right now, but I might check that one out, too.

  2. as soon as the oils turn from clear to opaque, trace is starting and will continue even if you are not mixing.

Oh, yeah!!!! And I especially like the part about the pancake batter. It took me a loooong time to figure that one out. I used to think just a little thicker would be better, lol!

  3. Put rubbing alcohol (get the strong kind--90 some percent) in a spray bottle and start spraying the minute you see ash begin to form. Spray it completely and let it dry then spray again. Keep spraying until you think you've got the ash under control. It really works.

  4. Thanks so much. Yes, it is a stamp. You can get stamps from lots of places, but I get most of mine from Brambleberry because of where I live. And yes, you can stamp on soaps made in a log mold. Just cut the soap as usual, lay them out flat, and stamp away (I pound the stamp with a hammer about 4 or 5 times). HTH.

  5. I haven't posted in awhile but I'm on vacation and had a chance to make some soap just for me. This is 50/50 rbo and oo. It will need to cure for a long time, but when it's ready it will be wonderful. I scented it with EOU's sandalwood blend. It needs to get a bit harder before I can cut it. Thanks for looking:D .
