  1. It really may have nothing to do with superfat. your skin may not love one or some of the oils in that bar. for instance, my skins doesn't love soaps with high palm or olive. Some people have reactions to coconut oil. Have you used other soaps with similar percentages of ingredients?

  2. Wow your lucky even if I put mine in the coldest room uncovered I get cracks.

I have found the overheating to be because of TOO much honey. It really heats the soap up, I've even had it get so hot with honey combined with certain fo's it separates.

  3. I don't know, but I can't imagine cleaning the thing effectively - yikes! I would have to be making lotions on a pretty massive scale to get one. I just fill a gallon ziplock similar to a frosting piping bag, snip the corner and fill the bottles - works awesome and no clean up!

  4. That doesn't surprise me. Seems like you'd be asking for trouble, though, to use a trademarked name as your domain (example: Yankee Tarts R Us.blah blah). I can't imagine the conniption fit Yankee would have over that, even if you only sold their stuff. lol

And slightly off topic, but search engines won't pay the slightest bit of attention to a domain name that's good for only a year. They're programmed to assume you're a fly-by-night. Three years is the minimum time to purchase a domain name if you want credibility.

Yes, I know, I had my url for 4 years, which is why it bites to not have it anymore. But I'm moving on now anyway.

  5. I already have it and made the logo and bought the URL - GO BIG OR GO HOME! - HA! It's going to be Soap Envy and the URL is mysoapenvy.com. soapenvy.com is taken but redirected to soap for hope, which is a risk, but I am really inspired by the name so maybe soapenvy.com will come available sometime and I can snag it, but hopefully people will remember the "my" in the beginning.

My logo is my current avatar, I'm still thinking about the colors, but I kinda like the bold look of the purple and green. Now I am in process of getting the site up, even though I have nothing to put on it yet, but I want everything to be in place. I really like an OScart so I will be just hosting through hostgator and kinda doing my own thing in and oscart format.

    Thanks for the welcome!

  6. Would you elaborate? What else would be in the lye?

I have to be honest, I don't really know. sometimes there are trace little black or gray things, I mean TINY - and I buy my lye from reputable suppliers. I just read it somewhere and have always strained it. but I don't if I'm making 100% milk soap because I can't due to the high fats of the milk. It doesn't seem to affect the soap. Also, when you make large batches of 50/50 lye like I do, there tends to be crystalization on top after cooling. I shake it up (it's stored in gallon jugs) and strain it again before adding it to my soap and there are always a few crystals here and there that I am glad are NOT in my soap!
