  1. I get 90% of my supplies from Brambleberry.

    1) Their customer service is awesome.

    2) They have very competitive pricing and a great selection of FO, EO, butters, micas, etc.

    3) All of their FO are tested in CP soap (which is very important to me so I know I am not wasting money).

    4) They cater to the soapmaker. That was all that they sold until recently they added candle FO and supplies.

    5) You only use .5 oz. per lb. of oils with their FO.

I am hooked. The only reason why I order from any other place is if they do not have the FO that I want.

    Good luck in your selection.

  2. Holy guacamole those look fabulous!!! How'd you do the stencil or whatever that is on the bombs? You definately have reason to be proud.

It is actually a sugar design (like the ones that they sell in cake decorating stores). The pictures doesn't show it well that it is actually raised and has texture to it.

I wanted them to be a bit different and not just colored like most that you see.

    Thanks for the compliments!

  3. I just wanted to give you all some encouragement for those that are trying to make rock hard bath bombs....

I have been "trying" for 2 years and have tried many, many recipes. This was my goal this spring to find the perfect recipe so I can sell them this summer. Well, recipe #7 was finally it.

I can drop these on the floor and they will not break and I have no issues with cracking or coming out of the mold.

    Thanks for looking!

  4. They do sell scented water.... It is usually used as water to iron your clothes or used as a sheet spray.

All of the ones that I have used have other things in them besides water and FO or EO.

I am guessing that it would seize your soap batch.

You could always try a small batch and see if it works!

  5. I use the squeeze bottle method when I want pictures in my soap... I do not use it for swirls.

I posted a picture on the thread titled Cherries, Cherries, Everywhere...

I made the cherries and leaves by placing different colors of soap at light trace in squeeze bottles and then making designs in the soap. It is quite tricky but when you get the hang of it the sky is the limit!

I am going to make a lemon batch tonight.

  6. My husband bought me two different ones for Christmas stocking stuffers.

I have mixed feelings about it too. It was a bit strange but a bit cool at the same time.

I have no desire to make it. I would not want the liability if someone clogs their pipes. I was a bit afraid (even though I followed the instructions) to push the drain....

  7. It can but it shouldn't. What I mean is if you get colored bubbles it means that you have added too much color. If your bubbles are colored then that means that your washcloth and possibly skin (with a lot of use) will be also.

Proper coloring and color achievement are two of the most challenging things when making CP soap- IMO.

    HTH.

  8. Depends on your marketing...

I have done both. It really doesn't seem to matter in my sales.

Just be aware that if you cut the soap off of the loaf (CP) that the end that you cut will feel damp even when it is fully cured. It takes about 30 min. for the air to "seal" the fresh cut soap.

    HTH.

  9. what is this?? I am clueless..can you tell me more?

    Thanks

For Crafts Sake is a company that makes molds, cutters, etc.

They have an awesome set for 1 oz. soap bars. It has a block mold, log and bar cutter. Some of us use them to sell to local bed and breakfasts, hotels or for samples.

The kit is expensive and OutlandishLady got a spankin' deal!

  10. I agree with CareBear. I always mix in my kitchen.. just use the precautions and turn on your vent fan for your stove if you need to.

I would not leave it unattended. I mix mine in the kitchen and put the containers in my husband's garage sink when they are cooling.
