  1. It is so funny. I sell leather like crazy. I am in Texas. I make Cowboy Vanilla, with it, Strawberry Leather and can't keep them in candles or tarts. Another one I see is Love Spell. I sell a lot of that one too. How strange. What doesn't sell for me is the aroma therapy type smells that I love so much. Grapefruit alone doesn't sell, but grapefruit vanilla does. I love good apple pie and can't sell it. Others that don't sell thru the years are ocean, cozy home, cranberry marmalade, pumpkin souffle, citrus basil, lemon, orange clove, the list goes on. I bet I went thru a 1,000 of them. But these are ones that sell for others. It surprised me. Every place is different.

  2. I think I would take in a few of your best, in your black tie. Sometimes they want something a little different. I think they would be cute in there. I always leave them one to burn. I would not bring up a new label, but if they say that is what they want, then explain that you would love to create a label that would work in there store. Tell them you wanting to try a brown kraft label and I bet it would be really cool in here. About solicitor signs, bring your product in and if they say anything, tell them you are not selling, you are promoting your business and would like to show them what you make. They will almost always ask to see what you have. If they decided they want to buy something. Hesitate for a minute and say......well, I guess I could sell you a few. Ok, I will let you. It works. If they are rude at the door, tell them you are sorry, let me get out of your way. I hate solicitors too. I said that a few times and they ask me to come back in.

  3. I don't worry about getting my fragrances in my home state. Sometimes they get here faster from out of state and the shipping varies. Some do not charge tax when out of state. There are so many good companies. I just couldn't stick with home town. What you do need local is your jar and wax supplier. If possible close enough to pick up. That is where the shipping is high. You can also find jelly jars at the local stores too.

  4. When I was a kid, I watched a young lady that was getting ready for her wedding. She didn't take the card board off the tampax, just inserted the whole thing. I found it in the trash. I knew she was acting uncomfortable when she was sitting on the couch. Kids are curious. I know I was. Also, I want a huge bright orange sign on the top of my jar candle that says, IF YOU DO NOT READ THE WARNING, THIS CANDLE WILL BLOW UP. Wonder if they would read it then. hahahahaaha

  5. I think it is so, if their kid plays with the toaster and puts the whole thing in there, they can not sue you.

I've always thought it was funny that they have to put directions on Poptarts, that you have to take them out of the wrapper before placing in your toaster. To me, it's common sense, but you know somewhere, somebody put it in the toaster WITH the wrapper. That's what scares me about people....the need for warnings on things that I would think are just common sense. Maybe it's just because people are so sue happy that when they do something stupid, they'd rather sue than just admit they were being silly and move on. When I splatter hot wax on myself, I don't moan and complain that there should be a warning label that the wax gets hot when you melt it....
  6. I use a lot of NGs that are not weak. Check the reviews. So far I haven't found any company that doesn't have something that is weak. It is what you order. I got the Celestial on the rose. I like it. It seems like it might be weak, but maybe there wasn't much on the rose. I may get a sample. It is a pretty scent.

  7. I had a good line up for years. If I didn't have sales of 1,000 a day, I was mad. It took time to build these shows. But now, I don't do very many of them. They are terrible. I can not believe how bad the economy is these days. I am almost afraid to do a show, because I am afraid it will cost me money I do not have to do it. I can not afford to lose on them. If you are doing great shows, Praise the Lord. I am so happy to here it. You just never know until you get out there with your product and your ability to sell and see what you can do.

  8. I only sell that kind of scent at Christmas. I add a little bit of the pine to cranberry. I also do a Orange Pine that is awesome. They seem to buy these in these in the colder season. Hope this helps. I personally like KYs Christmas Past. It smells just like a Christmas tree with a little fruit and other smells. It throws all over one of customers stores. Incredible scent and asked for over and over. Rustic Essentials is carrying it now.

  9. I tried a little bottle of MCs pumpkin souffle, but it wasn't a seller for me. I added cinnamon and spices and now it is better. Haven't tried their creme brulee. I got Rustics pumpkin brulee and added more of my creme brulee to it. It smells pretty good. I like that cinnamon pumpkin bread the best.
