Oh your mica coop, this is Chameleon. Actually thought it would come out lighter like it did every batch before this lol.
<....quietly adds Chameleon to the ever-growing list....>

hmmmm...was the superfat and lye concentration...and...crap, the three at the top...all the same??
Damned good question!

I've never added oatmeal to HP...but I would think you could add it the same time as your FO....just make sure to blend well.
HTH!

Not sure what I think of these. They still smell good, but has anyone soaped SnC's version of this? It went in stinkier than a spraying skunk, but seems to have mellowed back to normal a little bit.
A spraying skunk??
Oh my! I wonder if my DH would like that? Whose FO do you have? I have Solas...but haven't soaped it.
BUT....LOVING the colors and the swirls. Now...that shimmery reddish color you got going on.....what is that? I need some shimmers. Badly.
Muah!

Oh, honey.....you know I love you to death!
Um....Meringue is spelled wrong. Unless you were going for the ballroom dance "Merengue"...in which case, I'll shut up.

Girl...they be upside down!

Did you have a chance to get all the oils emulsified? If so, it's probably fine. But be sure to test it. Personally, *I'm* a closet soap licker. LOL.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean by "slimey". Does the bar still seem to be wet? I guess first I should ask you what type of castille you are making? Olive oil, lye and water?
hmmm....if I remember (and I'm too lazy just now to dig out my notes)...it's 90% olive oil, 5% castor 5% babassu, no scent, no color. I made it in March....in November when I used it...I got sort of a slimey coating on my skin and on the bar and then it worked into little bubbles. Sort of....wellllll......snotty feeling.
I don't care how wonderfully moisterizing it is....we've gotta cure out that snotty stuff some more. Just wondered if HPing would cut the cure time down much.
Donna

Hmpf....you just never hear about anyone HPing castille/bastille type soaps. I guess if it's still slimey.....well then it wouldn't cut down on the cure time any/much.
I just went and looked...on the one bar that I made 9 months ago...I have one orange spot on one side and 3 yellow-about-to-turn-orange spots on the other. GRRRRR

They shut down about August/September (?) of last year to do some construction on their home. I've not heard if/when they will be returning to making soap molds.

I've never tried the WSP one...so I can't help you there.
I think they higher % of FO would definately be for the room spray. I thought I had an email from Steve ant The Candlemaker's Store, but either I imagined it, deleted it or just can't find it! GRRRRR

Yes, this is officially my Dumb Question of the Week.
Yes, I did a search, no I didn't find an answer.
Can you HP castille soaps?? Wouldn't that cut down drastically on the cure time? If you can't.....why couldn't you??
I can feel it now....this is gonna be one of those DOH! moments, isn't it??
Oh! I forgot to add....I used a bastille soap at 8 months....too slimey, so I let it dry out and then I tried it again yesterday...the darned thing has DOS! WTF?

::::again...posting before coffee! I have to QUIT that!::::

I have it. The ingredients listed on the jug are: alcohol, water, glycerin, propylene glycol, benzophenone-2.
I use about 3.4% of FO in my body spray (4 oz of base to 4ml of FO). I haven't thought to try a higher amount of FO. Hmmm...I may try that next time I make some up for me.

I've been working on duplicating her shea lotion so that I can make it myself....just in case.

Fitting, huh?

That does all look goooooood. Tell you what....send me some in that swap box. Unless it's for Grumpy's swap...then I'm gonna get some anyway.
I've now been eyeing the body frosting recipe thread.....and think I'm just gonna have to play soon. I just happened to order more jars today....hehe

That does look very cool. I'm guessing underneath was white? I love how the white pushed up through it in spots...you could always send it to me if you don't want it. LOL. What scent is it? I love the dark coloring against the white.

I've dealt with them once. Never again. The M&P base I ordered was chunked up into a dirty Walmart bag. There was grass and dirt and stuff stuck to it. Not even saran wrapped w/ a label! I emailed several times when my order didn't ship by the time it was supposed to and no one ever bothered to email me back. Nor did they email back when I wrote and sent pics of the M&P base. Never again.

They look gorgeous! OMG....I am SO jealous of you! *My* HP soapies look like crap compared to yours. LOL.

I did mine w/ 90% OO, 5% castor and 5% babbasu. It bubbles ok, but still a bit too much on the slimy side for me. :tiptoe: I think I'll try 10% castor and 10% babassu next time like Meredith suggested.
Definately discount the water....I did my lye solution at 35% and cut it 24 hours later....still cured for a LONG time though. Make the castille now....6 months from now you may want some. LOL.
Donna

Oh my....what PA said....just get them all.
My absolute fave Peak's FO's though are:
Ocean
Botanical Orchard & Nectar
Apple Jack & Peel
Jamaica Me Crazy
Sweet Pea
Green Clover & Aloe
Juniper Breeze
Pink Sugar
Love Spell
White Lily & Amber
etc
etc
etc

I love the colors, especially the pale peach and pink-how did you get those colors?
Let's see....the one on top is Celestial Colors Orange....I just squirted some in w/o measuring until it looked "right". :tiptoe: And the bottom one is Select Shades Marmalade.....again, just squirting in and SB'ing it until it looked right.... hehehe.

What's in your soap pot this weekend
in General Soap Making
Posted
Well, I was really expecting to have my new TOG mold to play with this weekend!
GRRRRRRRRRR
So, now I think I am going to pout and not do anything soap related. So there!
I do have a bunch of new oils I wanted to play with....some AH/RE oils and some BW oils and some Bert's oils.....<big sigh>.
Yes, I think I'm going to be a drama queen and pout.
Maybe I'll make some body butter/lotion without the fantasy creme maker this weekend.
