  1. Thank you all for your suggestions!

Definitely more pictures--I had a hard time with that as you can tell lol!

The empty space on the left--that's where I'm thinking of putting the 'free gift' offer for xx amt on an order. Or some kind of special maybe??

Everything written down and noted--thank you!

  2. Valien--the url suggestion is noted!

'Neuse' is a confusing name in itself. When I was talking to the designer on the phone, he pronounced it like 'Nyuse'--it's actually pronounced n-o-o-s-e. It's an Indian word (name?). I believe it originates from the Tuscarorans--I actually tried to research it but couldn't find alot of info on it!

  3. Thank you for the nice comments:)

I'm thinking of maybe offering a free gift for orders of $50 (or $75?) or more, like a few of the soap and/or cream samples, or a free 4 oz tin or something--not sure about that yet.

Also ordered some aluminum tealights, I will send a 'scent sample' along w/ orders (labeling them 'Not for use!!'--or something to that effect lol).

  4. You could try to search a supplier close to where you live and just buy a 10# slab of wax. Do you already have containers picked out to do this? If not, tins would probably be the cheapest as far as shipping goes.

I agree with Ginger--using a container wax would be best, I think, because with most (if not all?) of them you do not have to use additives.

With all that said, don't forget to test first;)

  5. So I bit the bullet and had a website made!

I've got my handy-dandy notebook at hand for suggestions--

Literally awaiting the invoice from the designer, but in a month or so I'll need some changes made (featured product/scent, etc) so any suggestions heeded will be made then:)

Be kind, be gentle, but by all means, be honest (and I know ya will lol)!

    Here goes.........................

    www.neuserivercandleandbath.com

    Thank you!

  6. Just rec'd an order yesterday from them lol! Also all OOB--

    Agree w/ Midnight Pom--awesome!

Red Tea--smells 'very' good! Slightly fruity--the best tea scent I've smelled to date

Southern Vanilla--not too buttery OOB, moderate strength, am curious to see how it does in my 6006

Gardenia--pretty floral scent--not overly sweet, which I like

Won't get to test them for a couple of weeks, though:( Very busy the next week then going out of town for a few days:)

  7. Their Yacht Club is a really nice scent--I actually mix it 75/25 with another fragrance, but it's great on it's own. Very strong in 6006.

I also like their Black Raspberry Vanilla the best--to me it has a richness or depth to it that others I've tried don't. Also very strong.

  8. Yesterday a co-worker came up to me and said that she had 2 of her tumblers burning--well, she went to bed early 'thinking' her DH would put them out. Welp! You guessed, he didn't, and they burned all night. She said one had burned out completely, and the other one still had a little wax left and the flame was still going. HER point was that she was ill at her DH for 'wasting' her candles lol. I proceeded to let her know that I was sorry that her candles got used up, but isn't she glad that they were safe? And then I let her know to pleaasse be careful and not let that happen again lol!

Just writing this to let folks know who are just getting into candlemaking that somewhere, sometime down the line this will happen to one of your candles! Make sure and test ALL your candles--every container, every scent, and don't forget to power burn for safety--I'm sure glad I did!

  9. Wow--that does stink.

On a similar note, here in NC (not sure how other states do it), when you go to the Board of Nursing website, all you have to do is search by name, and the name and LICENSE NUMBER (!!!) comes up with it. I couldn't believe it when I first found out--talk about a privacy issue!! They started it when they did away w/ the plastic licenses.
