  1. I'm not sure if it would be included in your homeowners without seeing all the forms on the policy. You could call your agent but sometimes that scares me - I have found that some will say anything to keep your business. I could take a look if you want me to.

If you place commercial coverage - it would be included.

I would love to work with you.. I will email you in the next few days for a quote.. Back to the condo issue, how do I ensure that I am covered if I impacted other units with fire while making candles?? That has to be done through homeowners or is that included in business insurance?? Sorry as this is my first time with this kind of thing.. It is the most important too because if something happens, you need to be protected on all sides
  2. Thanks so much - I try - and it helps that I do this stuff too!!!

Teri worked with me on my insurance and she was/is WONDERFUL to work with. Saved me a great deal over the HSMG policy and as a bonus I have had her to contact with any questions. She has been extremely helpful, prompt and uber professional. I am saving over $180 a year on insurance and best of all I have someone to call if I have questions or need help! I sell bath/body, soap and candles.
  3. I have a market that will write candle makers - the premium is under $500 a year and does include coverage for you supplies - and there is no fee and nothing to join. They won't drop you once your sales are over $5000 a year either.

As far as how your condo policy would respond in case of a fire - you'd really have to look at the forms on your policy and see if business pursuts were excluded which they just may be.

  4. Your exactly right.... I get the SP Wax - they are the only ones that carry it so won't work for me... and if everything doesn't match exactly your screwed.....

The hoops you're required to jump through to get the price match is not worth it. Which is what I think they were going for. No ones going to bother. Or not many, anyway.
  5. here's my problem - last time I bought wax it was $79 as I pick it up - now it's going to cost me $102 to ship or pick up - that is so out of wack I can't tell you.

and with the real time pricing .. who knows what you pay from day to day.

I for one won't give them another dime - I'll pay more for consistancy.

I was VERY upset to find out that they no longer gave the 25% discount, as I was planning on picking my $600 order and that would have obviously saved me a lot of money :( However, I found it is still way cheaper to buy there than anywhere else, I don't understand the problem most people have with their prices? 50 pounds of wax for me is $87 at WSP compared to $150 at Lonestar :shocked2:
  6. I just think it's so unfair for me to pay the same price as someone who is having items shipped when I'm not.

Last time I got wax it was about $76.00 when I picked it up - now I'm going to pay $102.00 and pick it up.. no way.

I for one won't be buying anymore... it's enough trying to find a supplier that you can get a lot of what you need from. I don't know about any of you but with the prices changing on a daily basis - I don't have time to adjust my price.

  7. did you guys get the email - is she trying to put herself out of business.

I get a lot from them as I can pick it up and save on shipping - but now it seems there is a minimum order - you no longer get the 25% off for pick up and the prices are insane.

I really don't want to have to text wax but it looks like I'm headed that way....

  8. I don't think you need to consult and attorney. Your renters policy should have coverage in it to cover the house should you be found responsible for a fire... it's called Personal Liability - although it may not be enough would be the only problem I can see.

Any everyone is right.... if something were to happen you personal property limit wouldn't cover any items used for business. But then there is the question that if it's a total loss.... they aren't going to make you give them an itemized list of everything that you lost, they more than likely are going to write you a check for the policy limit.

  9. I have a contact at a brokerage that is writing coverage for candle & soap makers that includes products and completed operations. They can write in every state except KY, IL & the US Virgin Islands.

The policy is written with Lloyds - a basic policy is starting at $200-$300 per year with a max gross sales limit of $100,000.

If anyone is interested email me at terim@ridgwayins.com and I can send you the application.

FYI.... I'm currently and agent and have been in the field for about 20yrs now.

    here are the minimum premiums:

    with a $300,000 liability limit - $235. / $500,000 - $265. / $1,000,000 - $300.

of course these are just minimums and any additional coverage that are added would add additional premium.

the $1,000,000 limit includes business personal property on/off your premises - this would come into play for craft shows & farmers markets

  10. Product insurance has nothing to do with your landlord - it covers your products after they are sold if something were to happen.

If you get insurance, they would not contact your landlords carrier - they wouldn't have a reason to.

You should have something in your renters policy to cover your property and your landlord's home in case you started a fire.

Is this what your wondering about?
