  1. I just got finished testing this wax and I am very happy with it. It colors well, is a one pour and the hot and cold throw are great! I heat my containers before pouring and have very minimal wet spots. If I were you I would get a slab and see how you feel about it, I think that you will be happy with it, but like always what one likes another doesn't. haha. HTH-Mashala

  2. Thank you both for the suggestions. I will definatly try them.

Kerry, I too am very happy with this wax. The cold and hot throw have been good so far and if I could find a wick I'm sure the hot throw would be even better.

Again, thanks for the help and I will let you know how it goes!:D

  3. I am testing Taylored concepts container blend with a 7oz Status Rock jar. These jars are straight sided and have an opening of about 3.5 inches. I have tried a 51z, 60z and 62z. The 51 was too cool and the 60 and 62 were too hot. I also tried double wicking with a 36z, which seems to burn too fast. I do have sample packs of the Cotton and HTP wicks, but I have very little experience with them, so if someone feels that they would work better could you give me a starting point? I have NEVER had a problem with wicking like I am having now and its getting very frustrating!

  4. Well tonight is my neice's 9th birthday party so I will be there for awhile.

But tomorrow I will be testing Taylored Concepts custom wax. I told hubby hopefully this is the wax I have been waiting for. We shall see. haha. I poured the candle last night and its a great one pour, so I can't wait to see how it burns.

I finally found a mold for the wax pellets so I will be pouring some of those also.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and good luck to all having shows!

  5. Those are great! I actually ordered some and hubby told me well you shouldn't order anymore because I can make them. Now the hard part is actually getting him to make them. I think that I will order some and keep them hidden just in case he doesn't get them done. lol

  6. I have tested both the J50 and J223 and a 50/50 mix of the two. The J223 had a better hot throw for me but the J50 looked better in the jars. Mixing them gave me a great hot throw and less wet spots than the J223 by itself. I have not tested the J300 but it is made to pull completely away from the jar so you don't have to worry about wet spots. I've only tried the Q wax once and it made a great looking candle, but is a little bit more difficult to wick. I agree that you should get a slab of each and try them out. One person's favorite wax is another person's most hated. lol

  7. That's a good question. I have a candle book that has a photo of a mold like that but I've never seen it anywhere. It makes little pellets that are kind of like Vybar, right? Would be an interesting thing to find.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Yes this is probably the same mold that I am talking about. The pellets are a little bit bigger than Vybar and I remember seeing it on the old board but I have looked till my eyes are about to pop out!:shocked2: I will look into the other molds that were suggested.
