  1. Over the years, I've tried a lot of Peak's FO's. I haven't tried any of the newer ones, but of the ones that I have tried, these are some of my favorites:

    Cool Citrus Basil

    Juniper Breeze

    Hyacinth

    Tall Grass

    Amish Harvest

    Country Garden

    Storm Watch

    Spruce X-mas Tree

    Sugar Plum Berries

    Clean Cotton

    Mango Papaya

    Midsummer's Night

    Sweet Pea

  2. I agree, it does smell very familiar. I think it reminds me of an old men's colgone that Avon used to carry back in the mid to late 70's. I know I've smelled this scent before and was having a hard time placing it. I didn't much care for it, it was way too strong for my liking.

  3. You want to make sure that your candle has cooled completely before you do your repour. If you do, you will be sure that your candle has shrunk as much as it is going to. You can do your repour at around 175-185 degrees and let that set up completely. If you still have a dip in the center you can do a third pour, but you probably won't have to. If it's just a minor dip, you can usually get rid of that when you level out your bottom.

  4. Mandarin Bamboo...one of my favorite scents! I think it's got a strong citrus note to it myself, no scent of mango to my nose...that is if you got it from Trade Winds. By the way, I think your candle is lovely and I color my Mandarin Bamboo green...like live bamboo, although with the strong citrus, I probably should have gone with orange for the mandarin orange.

  5. Mandarin Bamboo and Herbal Ecstasy. I absolutely LOVE these two from Tradewinds and they both throw unbelievable. If you're going to get that Mandarin Bamboo, you better get it quick because when they run out, it can take as long as six months to get it back in stock...at least that's how long it took the last time I wanted it and they didn't have it.

  6. Some of the SOS is good for candle making...but not all the ones that I have tried. I think that grade is best suited for B&B. I get the Ultra for candlemaking and have had great luck with them. I won't pay the price for the Extreme grade when the Ultra works so well. I guess the best thing to do is get a few samples before you decide which grade will serve your purpose.

  7. I have to agree with the others. Palm wax looks very pretty, but the scent throw sucks. Cold throw can be pretty good, but the hot throw is almost non-existent, however, I was surpised once when I set some candles aside for about a month and decided to try them again and I got some scent throw...but I'd prefer it be much stronger. It's a pain in the ass to wick too. If you've found a wick that will work, you're going to be left with a shell because if you go any larger, you'll have side blowouts. I don't like having to maintain a shell on a candle, I prefer to see the flame so I don't make these anymore, and the ones that I do have are purely decorative.
