Note: Every tin will end up burning different with various mixes of soy and fragrance. It will be a wild guess as to sizing and series since soy wax blends from different candle makers can be so incredibly different. Some "soy" candles contain paraffin, palm and or other waxes.
I would start with CD wicks. You can pick up sample packs from CandleScience and a few other suppliers. For an 8 oz ti (6 oz wax, 3" wide) I would start each tin with a CD10 or CD12 and go up or down from there.
I would use wick stickers versus glue dots for safety. You can get those at most candle suppliers. I use Northwood Supply and have had super luck with them.
Thank you.
I ordered these. Hopefully they'll be ok.

I want to replace wicks in store bought natural soy candles in tins. The wax has melted down but still can be salvaged. I believe the wicks used are cotton core. I'd appreciate any info regarding the wick size and type and the glue dots to use as well as where to purchase these items.
Thank you!

I am considering purchasing FOs from PureFragrance oils - West Coast. I'd appreciate recommendations for FOs for lotions, creams, not soap.
TIA

I am not familiar with this FO, but Pure Fragrance Oils (West Coast divsion of Southern Gardens) has it starting at 1.25 an ounce.

I use FCO or jojoba oil. FCO sinks in and is not oily. It also better for a spray IMO.

If you convert to grams, it is much easier to calculate. Also if you make an even amount...200...400 grams it is also much easier to calculate and you won't have to deal with decimals.

I have never used soap in a scrub, but I have seen scrubs made with a liquid soap base or M&P Soap. Sorry, I dont have the percentage
Here is one made with soap

I believe The Sage may also have recipes using some sort of soap.

I make an emulsifed scrub and use malibus. It stays a lotion consistency. This is for personal use, so I make it small quantities.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you can make a sugar or salt scrub, emulsified, just leave out the sugar or salt.

Donna,
Your cream looks luscious, just like whipped cream.

Thanks for the info also. I never scrolled to the bottom either . Now I learned that plus TD info.

I have never used lard. Cocoa butter for hardness, possibly. Castor oil for bubbles. Of course run thru soap calculator.

Your soaps are absolutely delicious, beautiful

Soaps are beautiful as well as the bath bombs. Good job!

I have an Escali, 13 lb. that I bought about 3-4 years ago. When I first started making B&B products I was using a 1 quart glass pyrex bowl and the weight of the bowl along with the ingredients messed up the digital calculator, although I now have a procedure I use to calculate my ingredients. I have calibrated it with 5 quarters, so it is accurate and still useable.
Next scale I purchase may be a larger capacity scale and one that weighs in tenths for grams as well as ounces. This only weighs in 1/10 ounces. I do have the adopter also. Good luck

I don't sell, but I get many compliments and questions regarding Fig & Cassis from The Old Mill Company (oldmillfragrances.com ??).

Congratulations on your first batch. Uh-oh now that is all you are going to think about soap. What ingredients should I use and just wait until you start gathering FOs and EOs, then you will be so confused as to what fragrance to use. But it is so much fun. It's like having your very own BBW shop...but better

Yes, it does help! Thanks

Are the basic colors listed as red, green, blue, lavender or purple, yellow, orange? My question is because if this is so, one cannot follow the color chart. The color charts shows blends, i.e, muted red, violet red, purple velve, marmalade, etc. I see that the set of Individual colors are Violet red, Purple REd, Muted Red, False blue, etc. Was thinking of purchasing these, but I need to know this first. Hope I make sense
Thx

Ruina!
Congrats to you!! You are on your way baby ! There's no turning back now. Once you have started, you will be calculating all sorts of recipes. Ask me how I know. I too was terrified of the lye, not any longer.
Soap looks great

I think your first batch will turn out just fine. As was suggested, do a search and use maybe 3 or 4 oils. I'm telling you this because if my first batch came out great, there is no reason yours should not as long as you follow "the rules." Good luck. Daria

Red Devil wasn’t flake form; it was more of small crystals/rocks. Roebic is similar consistency and it is 100% lye. Why do you ask? Do you want to order another type? Other manufactures who sell in larger quantities usually sell in bead format. Go with the beads.
Yep, that's what I was looking for...beads. It's been a while since I used the a "manufacturer" lye, just couldnt remember the consistency.
Thanks

Thanks again. Hope they work. I ordered these prior to asking on Craftserver. I'll research the web for the wick and sticker info you recommended.
