  1. I started out in my kitchen as well, then I moved to the basement. Not a great workspace there yet either, currently use a couple of old tables one for pouring and one for measuring and melting wax. However, we are finishing the basement and I am finally going to have a nice space down there to work with. I will be putting in some cabinets and probably looking for some remnant granite (got to find it cheap), so I can set my hot pour pots directly on it and just wipe any wax drippings off of it. I feel your pain with the stuff all over the counters and what not as I have been there. :)

  2. I am still just doing this as a hobby, give to family and friends, but I want to eventually branch out by next year this time to craft fairs and what not. I know it is important to have insurance and what not so that if something were to happen, my home finances would be safe. Any suggestions on insurance carriers in WI? Also should I get an LLC too? Any thoughts would be great! TIA! :cheesy2:

  3. Hi all,

Do any of you make your own candle labels? I used to purchase them made for me, but then I have to add another label with scent name separate to save costs. Plus the person I used to purchase from is no longer reliable. I have purchased some clip art that I have tried to use in the past, but having a hard time with Word. Is there any progam any of you can suggest that may be more user friendly for creating a nice professional looking label? TIA!

  4. I hope it doesn't, I have had my box of soy flakes for a couple of years. I keep it stored in my dry cool basement, so maybe that helps. So far I have had no problems. . . Would be interesting to find out what the manufacturer says. I would send them an email or call them. I may do that for my soy supplier and see what they have to say.

  5. Hi all, I usually use dye wax flakes to color my candles. But I have to heat the wax up even hotter to add the color so that it can melt the dye flakes. This makes my processing time much longer. I thought about not coloring them and my family (pretty much the only people who get my candles at this point) really liek them colored. So I am looking for something more efficient. I have never tried liquid dyes. Do they work well? Do you have to heat the wax up to a certain temp to use them? And if you do use them and love them, any suggestions as to suppliers that would be great. Oh I use EZ soy wax flakes. . . I appreciate any help!! Thanks in advance!!!
