I use PB exclusively and I have only had that happen once in over 2 years. It happened on 3 batches, so contacted my supplier and they sent me a new box/lot of PB.....It's never happened again (knock on wood).

Looking for a supplier (Canadian or USA) of these larger

tealight cups.

They generally measure about 2 1/3" across and 1" deep. There is a supplier auralites.com but min. order is 12,000 tealights!!?? Agghh!

I don't think I have ever used my Presto Pot (w/spigot) without the lid on!?

Never thought of leaving it off....speeds up melting and keeps wax free of debris.

I buy 95% of my fragrances from Candle Source. Their customer service is untouchable. My favourite and best seller is Christmas Splendor.

I use only soy.

I like my 5oz and 10oz apothecary jars. But I also really like the 7oz Frosted Tumbler..........especially this time of year.

Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use? Ecosoya PB & CBA

Pouring temp you recommend? PB 140 CBA 120

What you do to prevent frosting? no dye or + BW

What you do to prevent rough tops? don't get them with EcoSoya

Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? don't get them with EcoSoya

I don't typically wrap my melts for shows but do put them in a small (2x3) zip lock bag with a hang tag for my wholesale customers.

Never thought about wrapping them for shows........would it be worth it to save the scent....although they never seem to be around for long......

Just Curious............Do you all test EVERY batch you make or just until you find the right combination?

I only use 1/2 CB 135 and 1/2 CB adv for my tealights...found this helps to combat the frosting that the 135 often produces.

I use CB Adv in my jars, add FO at 165-170 and usually pour around 125-130. I find the adv produces much smoother tops and less frosting.

Mine only sweat if I have them in heat...like an outdoor market in the summertime!?

I try to stay away from those situations. :tiptoe: But luckily they usually harden up again with no damage done.

I have just had a first.......

I used poured 3.5oz glass flower pot votive holders using CB Adv; Lemongrass FO (1.2oz) and 3 drops liquid dye per pound ( as I have done numerous times before).

The flower pot candle was probably 3-4 weeks old and one side heaved and lifted up on one side at the top. It hadn't been lit but was sitting in a warm environment. The top showed no signs of melting and colour had not faded....any ideas of what may have caused a seemingly solid form to do such a thing??

If I am using the taller 5oz apothecary (3" high) I use an HTP 73 with CB Adv. I have tested the shorted (pressed) 5oz apothecary with HTP 93 & 105 with success depending on scents.

I guess the reason I wasn't so thrilled with the wick pins is that the concave bottom makes placing the votive warning label awkward.

I tried Wick Pins but didn't like the concave bottoms on the votives.

Does anyone know of any other supplier that has the flat bottomed wick pins like the ones at CandleScience??

I am in Canada and CS only ships via UPS here which is VERY costly.

WHEW!! At $6.00 for 2oz, I couldnt be in business long. I always buy larger quantities....like 16oz at a time. The price goes down drastically. I am in Canada and I buy some of my fragrance oils from The CandleSource. After I factor in exchange and shipping I am still only paying $1.33 an ounce.

Do shop around. If you go to the main forum area and look under the scents section there is a listing of all the abbreviations for US fragrance suppliers with links....a great resource!

I stock 25-30 at any given time. Like most people on this board I have ones that are *seasonal*. I will pull ones that didn't sell well in order to justify something new.

And I do agree, it becomes confusing for people. Be sure to stock the *basics* and pump it up for fall/winter.

Call me old-fashioned, but I just use large toenail clippers (new of course)......................It works great!!

Searched for the past hour.....I have a supplier for the 7.5oz frosted tumbler and would really like a larger one as well.

Any tips on where I might find some? 10oz, 12oz or 14oz?

The beads peaked my interest a while back, but the general consensus was that they just didn't throw as well as a melt.

So, that ended my curiosity right there!

I also use EcoSoya PB exclusively. I tried wick pins and didnt have a problem getting them out with a few firm taps, but I didn't like the concave bottoms...my warning labels don't stick as well. Now I am back to placing my wicks manually and babysitting them until they stand firm!?

I too, was a former MB rep. I love their candles, but decided to make my own cause theirs are SO expensive!

I would also agree that they add palm & beeswax to make that crystal-look.

I much prefer the satisfaction of making and selling my own candles....as well as the compliments I get from my loyal customers!!

I am desperately seeking a Vanilla Spice FO akin to the Body Shop's Vanilla Spice collection they carry at Christmas time. There is a distinct scent of spices (all spice, nutmeg) in this fragrance.
