Well it didnt work for me.!!

and yeah. only like 5 FO's have worked for me... gets frustrating afterwhile. Though her sample specials are great, it's still a waste of money... I''ll get like 13-15 fo's for under $20 bucks with shipping, just to have 1 good one out of that bunch...

that has just been my own experience.

i beleive the problem is the ewax.. I would have to convert to % to be able to tell and I WILL NOT DO SO (i am at work!!) at this time... but yup, looks like 1oz of ewax will not do the trick... about the mixing, once it's incorporatesd it's incorporated, I dont see why you would have to continue mixing through out, maybe only to keep up the fluffyness.... and no I dont think you could add stearic or more ewax to the batch bc to do so, you need to melt it all down to ensure it mixes well which would only throw off your preservation.

wanted to add:

my scrubs seperate like that, maybe just throw some sugar in there and use it as a scrub...

.... or that may not work either!

Thank you for responding and I will make (2) more batches...(1) without the Ewax and (1) with a lower percentage. I'll keep you posted with the results.

Just wanted to add that if your take the ewax completly out, you still need some type of emulsifier.

If not (as stated before) no need for the ewax or stearic.

mine looks like that (whether I whip it or not) for about a day or 2, then it completly seperates,... it's HOT over here, plus we leave the Ac off to all day to save money. I've learned to live with it (seperated scrub)!

I would have been really upset if I didnt get what I had asked for, especially if it was available (like the fonts). And it is hard when you are working with the parents, they just want to take control over everything.

but image how upset your parents would have been if you went somewhere else (and paid - and got exactly what you wanted), your parents would have been hurt. So suck it up and hope that it gets "stolen".

I use the double wall for the shea, does it help?... who really knows, I'm in Houston and it's pretty much always hot so it melts regardless.

yes, I've bought some in a coop as well that was creamy and I used it once, made a body butter and itnever seemed to harden up, it was liquidy. So I have learned to only buy from one supplier (certain co-ops).

AN inspiring article on every edition would be nice. THe story of how a fellow chandler is living the dream of most of us, by having their own store, or whatever it is that makes them successful.

I just found those jars (tumblers) at the dollar store...

I love them... they have slight imperfections at the bottom, like tiny bubbles and such, but nothing to worry about.

and I don't mind not having the lids for them...

when I used to do mine, I did the 2x4 as well... but I couldnt even give the darn things away, so I did away with the clamshells..

plus, I just wanted to add that there a few 2x4 lables left in the co-op section from Tara's glossy label co-op, if anyone is interested.

i would still recommend using something from the store that has all the proper protection.

and I too remember reading something about citrus eo and sun...

so be careful.

I would say it's all about preference...

hey we take baths with salt, and that is not drying. Salt is suppossed to soften the water, which is softening the skin...

TO me salt is a little more rough than sugar, I prefer sugar scrubs.

edited to say, that I have tried salt scrubs and did not find it drying.

The WSP just doesn't emulsify the same. I get mine from soapers choice, shutter has it in the co-op right now. MMS's stuff is awesome too. WSP's e wax has caused many a heartache in reformulating.

I just bought some from WSP (don't know why, it cost me a gazillion $ just to ship)... I had a bunch from To Die For from a while back, and now I'm low......

OK, i just did the calculations and it seems fine...

but my guess is that they are not being complety emulsified with just using a whisk... when I first started, I used a fork on my 1st batch and the oils just sat on the top and wasnt quite right....

c'mon bunny I'm waiting for your calculations:tongue2:... I'm too lazy at this time!
