Ok I'm at my wicks end (lol) I have been trying to wick amber Romance and so far evrything I use drowns. I'm using a mix of j223, IGI 4786 and have tried several wicks with no luck

8 oz jelly jar - 44Z, htp93,lx18 no luck

8 oz 3.5" mouth short jar. - This jar I've tried all the 44z, HTP 83,93, lx 18-21 with no luck, I've tried double wicking this with all these and still cannot get a good burn, they start nice however, after about an hour the flame starts to fade away. I'm afraid that if I put a huge wick I'm going to run into the problems with the jar getting too hot. any suggestions?? Thanks

Live in Germany so I don't have the benifit of an A/C. However, it is in the basement (cool) and unlike the states we have been around 60-70 degrees (outside). I'm going to try the box Thanks

Why am I having problems now. I used to pour, make relief holes a little bit later and finally, the next day do the repour to fill the sink holes. Seems if I don't wait for a complete cool I'll have problems with sink wholes after I do a second pour? any thoughts?

I'm working on 8 oz jelly jars and 9 oz Hex candles. New problem, which I never had in the summer. Anyways when I do my second pour (usually 10 degrees hotter than the first pour of 170) the wax goes down the side and leaves blotches of cooled wax. Definately, noticable and from the second pour going down the side of where the first pour pulled away. Now I not only have wet spots to deel with I have the cooled wax blotches. A heat gun works but if I can avoid that would be better. The wax is a j223/4786 mix.

I use this wax with a 50 50 mix of J223 and I have good results with cold and hot throw. As for wet spots they are there with the 8 oz jelly jars, however, for some reason the 9 oz hex jars turn out real nice.

Stupid question, I just tried out some clamshells; my question is do you fill it up all the way or do you just fill up each section.

This is the same blend I use, just a few questions, first one is what percentage of FO are you using per pound (Oz per pound). I found that with this most often I'm using 1.5 oz per pound. Secondly, sometimes where you get the FO's from can make a difference. Some place can and will dilute their FO's.

OK I know on the old board there was several conversations about wet spots. I know you have to love them and I do. It's just that in my 8 oz jelly jars using j223/4786 (50/50)/ heated jars/pour 180, I have too many for the label to cover. My question is on the old board I seen many ideas about removing them. I tried the heat gun they just come back. Someone suggested a hat water bath or something like that. Any suggestions that works for people using 8 oz jelly jars. Funny thing is I also do 9 oz Hex jars and no wetspots at all. what determines how they adhere, temp, glass properties, shape etc????

I think that was my problem

OK I tried making a two layer container candle for the first time and failed. I made Chocolet chip cookie 1.5oz, using a 50-50 mix of igi-4786/j223. I used a 9 oz hex jar. One good thing is with the hex jars no wet spots. Bad thing is after I let the first layer cool I poured the second layer and it ended up going down the side of the first layer so there was no definitive seperation. What did I do wrong? Also, I think my problem was that I waited for the first layer to cool completely. At what point do you poor the second layer??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
