  1. I've always been wanting to do a really nice kitchen coffee scrubby bar and today I've made a "small 10 lb" test batch. LOL My small batches never end up just for me. :laugh2:

The goal of this recipe was to use rice bran oil instead of olive oil.

The "luxury" oils will push this one a bit over the top. :wink2:

  2. I bought his molds a couple of years ago. They are not pleasant! They warp/soap sticks/just not practical at all. :( It was a total waste of money in my honest opinion. I LOVE my handmade wooden log molds. I'd rather line (which I can do very quickly) then have to deal with bad molds.

  3. I haven't been very active, as spring/summer dictates I spend most of my time with chores around the farm/vegetable gardening/and generally enjoying the warm weather :D . Here is the last batch that I did this past week.

    Scented with FOH's Indonesian Teak.

Coloured with brewed coffee (main part of batch), cinammon, and black oxide.

  4. I've been pretty non-existant on this forum for awhile. I've been exceedingly busy preparing for a large show this year. The batches I've been doing range in the 70 to 120 bar range. Here's a sample of the last 7 batches I've done in the past two weeks. :D

    Top to bottom: Limon Spritzer/Pine Tar/Daze of Wine & Roses/Mother & Child/OMH/Lime Splash/Herbal Garden

  5. I've tested a small cut off as of today, and great lather/non drying, the scent is holding true..so far. I've used this scent in other soap i've made knowing that it is a good long lasting fragrance. So, I'll keep an eye as we test over the next couple of months once it's cured out completely.

  6. Doing some reading in the forums about the properties of pine tar, and thought I'd try a small batch for myself/dh to see if I'd like it. Most of the people who'd made it said trace is VERY fast, and you could end up with soap on a stick. I used a 20% water discount, whisked for approx. 20 seconds. Yes, it did trace fast, but not so fast that it wasn't pourable. I let it gel, unmolded and cut last night. Scented with BB's Sleigh Ride, which covered the pine tar scent quite nicely. Smells like pine trees and crisp cold winds!
