  1. I have a bag pattern that I absolutely love! I've made one so far, it's a quilted bag and was a LOT of work! The part that tripped me up and where I messed up my bag a bit (not enough that I can't use it, but I am wondering how to avoid the problem for next time...) is sewing the bottom and getting boxy corners. I somehow sewed something together that I shouldn't have and my corners were rounded and puckery! I followed the pattern and had cut out the box of fabric on either end of the bottom, but something went awry during sewing. Is there a way to pin something or mark something so that this doesn't happen? The pattern was a bit vague in that section. :sad2: It is the Regan bag from Marlous Designs, by the way, if anyone has sewn/seen this bag before. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

  2. I designed this myself, and I'm thinking the next one I will have some improvements made. I will probably hand sew the next one as it is a bugger to sew through that fluff!!! I made a removable pouch for the inside--skip that! Next time I'm sewing the fleece lining in. I also want to incorporate a separate little pocket for the earbuds.....but I still love my little wonky monster case! LOL

    Thanks for looking!

  3. *I* would stick to silicone or wood, but others may chime in here. As far as the dimensions go, since I totally suck at math, I would start out by looking at some of the moldmaker's log mold dimensions and see what they are running as far as soap volume. At least that might help give you an idea of how big/small you need to go. Upland's not around anymore (which makes me sad) but there are still some other good moldmakers out there. I looked into having a slab mold made for me, and it was a bit spendy at the time. If you're crafty enough to make a mold, that's great! Best of luck and sorry I wasn't more help.

  4. And I cannot give away this scent. GO FIGURE!

    REALLY?!? Wow, isn't that funny how tastes are different in different parts of the country? Red Clover Tea from Symphony Scents is one of the few fragrances that has floral in it and doesn't make me gag or get a headache. LOL I am not a fan of the florals, however, most ladies in this area are.

  5. What about shrink bags? I've only made bubble bars for personal use so far, and just stored them in a big freezer bag.....I am partial to shrink wrapping though and think that would look nice and prevent moisture/dust/fuzz from getting onto the bubble bars. Perhaps some other ladies will chime in here.....sorry I'm not more help! :(

  6. You can't use an e-class? Do you need a special internet connection or something? What an awesome prize! Shame you can't use it. I'd love to take a class with The Nova Studio! Maybe you could trade for something you need or have a trivia contest if you just want to give it away.....

    Column swirl soap from demo

    Bath bombs from interactive demo (everyone did an awesome job!)

    What a nice time! The venue was large and beautiful, the vendors were awesome, the demos were so informative! I learned alot! My favorites were the column swirl demo, bath bomb demo and Kristy's flower swirl soap demo. My bath bomb fell out of it's little holder on the ride home and was rolling around in my trunk! Can you believe that only being made hours earlier it didn't crack, break or even crumble in the slightest?!? I'm going to try applying the tricks I learned yesterday to my soapmaking and bath bomb making.....I'm excited to see my results! A big thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the Gathering such a success! Everything was wonderful! I'm already looking forward to next year!

    I must say, arriving a day early and taking in Amish Country was a great time too. I'd never been there, and it is a trip my daughter and I will never forget. :)

  8. :cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2: Sad that I can't go this year!:cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

    I had such a good time last year....unfortunately my finances won't allow it this year unless something changes drastically.

    Even though I am not attending this year: I am still the Kokum Queen.....unless someone steals my title by melting more Kokum Butter in a hotel sink than I can! LOL Betcha can't!

    You girls (and guys! LOL) have fun!
