  1. Thanks for this info. I'm getting ready to place another order with them tonight! Any non bakery type scents that throw well that you would suggest? Other than the country club (which I'm ordering a sample of :cheesy2: ).

The others said it: almost every oil from them is great. I can give you only one "warning" for an oil I didn't like at all: Strawberry - worst I've ever smelled!

But the rest, as far as I've tested them is worth every penny!

Oh, I forgot: Saffron & Cedar is great as well, very spicy!

  2. I use many of JBN's fos and they are among the strongest I have experienced. Very good:

    - Chocolate Almond Cookie

    - Gingered Pumpkin

    - Strawberry Shortcake

    - Cranberry Balsam

    - Buttercream

    - Mexican Vanilla

    - Cinnamon Buns

    - Coconut Pie

    - Country Club

    - Gingerbread Applesauce

  3. I'm using several of Lyschels scents -Vanilla Voodoo, Orange Tea & Crumpets, Bunchberry & Moss, Fallen Leaf etc. All of these scents are really great, very complex and definitely worth the money. I'm not quite sure if they're really more potent than other oils because I find I have to use almost the same amount of CC fos as of other companies' fos. But this might be because I'm using CB135 and this is a wax that doesn't "love" every fo, so I have to use really, really good fos like those from JBN, KY, Flickers and some from AH/RE.

I guess you will like them as well.

  4. That's okay and as I said before this day is too nice to be angry.

I know now what I wanted to know and that's it. And: I am as well used to the "collegiate world" - I have two masters (but *surprise surprise* not in math, but in English and German linguistics and English literature - so if anybody wants to interpret a poem....I'll give you a starting point!).

But be assured I knwo what I'm doing - I'm running a business for two years now and yes, my bank liked my business plan and gave me the money I needed.

As I mentioned before, I was only interested in a figure the others work with to have a possibility of comparison and that is what I have now.

Okay, I guess it's enough now - I'm a bit off my trolley today...

  5. It's basic math. You know what your utilities averaged before you started making candles, don't you? Subtract that number from the increase number and there's your cost.

Only you know what your materials cost. Only you know how much you've wasted. Nobody here can do your numbers for you.

    It's basic math.

Maybe I shoud have precised my question: I just wanted to know what lump sum you assess for this stuff, not an exact number calculated from bills etc.

You see, I'm just not ABLE do this basic math, because I'm a blonde and in my abitur (the German university entrance-diploma) a had only 2 out of 15 points in math.:DBTW: Are you a relative of SliverofWax?:wink2:

Never mind, it's such a nice sunny day here and I'm not going to be annoyed at anything.*getdown*

Thank you to all the others being so helpful - you've given me the info I need:thumbsup::thumbsup:

  6. I'm still searching for really true and strong berry scents, amongst others blackberry - who has a good one? Really fruity, not too sweet, no candy scent.

By the way: It seems to be the hardest thing to male good fruit scents - but why then does the cheap shower gel of my kids smells like a REAL peach, just as an example (NONE of the many fo's I've tested smells like the real thing, neither KY:cry2:)

  7. I've tried so many strawberries...some that really smell great are from Oregon Trail, Soycandle.com, also Florida Soap Supplies but none of them had a good scent throw in my CB135 (but that's nothing new:rolleyes2 - I mainly use JBN, KY and Soycandle). JBN has a Strawberry Shortcake that smell really great (and I can't detect any pie crust etc.) - and the best: it throws fantastic!

But of course I will try the one from Serendipity as well:D

  8. I have the same problem as many (or at least some) of you to get my candles black. Also I need quite a lot of my color blocks (one block for 15 lbs of wax? No no, not in my soy!!). So, please tell me: which are the really good dyes out there and where do I get them? Are Bittercreeks Dye Flakes okay?

    Thanks for helping!!;)

  9. I'm testing my new jars at the moment, but I have a problem with the bigger one: it's a square jar with 4,3 inches in diameter, its opening is 2,2 inches in diameter. I've tested an LX 20, but it's still tunneling.

Now I wonder if I have to double wick and if that's possible at all with the narrow opening - what do you think?

    Thanks!!:wink2:
