Thanks to everyone for the help. I mostly buy from js but this time I got some fos from WSP because they had an amber sunset that I was looking everywhere for. More then likely it is because I am not stirring well enough. I will make some more today and see if that would be the problem. I have only made a few candles so far and trying to learn as I go. Thanks again for everyones help! This board has saved me a lot of trial and error so far.

I thought it was mixed in well. I did a batch yesterday and the same thing happened. But I had put the color and the dye in at the same time so today I put the oil and stirred I didnt see it anymore so I thought I was fine. Is there large pipettes I can get anywhere that can hold more then the regualr 3 ml ones?

How do you know for sure the fo is mixed in all the way? I made my first tarts the other day and there was a bit that stayed on top.

I hope everything is great, this was my 1st order with them. I havent smelled any of the fo's I bought before but......I couldnt pass the sale up! I spent over $200. Cant wait to get them in!! Has anyone tried the apple butter? I am most exited about that one.....I ordered so much!!

I have gotten a few from different places but recently got some not so great smelling ones. They where horrid. I just want to make sure this does not happen again. Just wanted to get an idea of what suppliers have great fo's so this doesnt happen again, and I waste money. :undecided I know peaks and js is great. I just wanted some more ideas so this doesnt happen again.

I seem to be having a little problem

I made my first candles this past week end. Some tarts and votives. I thought they turned out pretty good. Untill I went to bring them to my grandmas today.I got them in the sunshine and could see teeny tiny bubbles in the outside.(I have the worst lighting in my apartment). Did I pour wrong? I burned a votive I made the other day and was really impressed. It burned perfectly. When done there was NO wax left in the bottom of the holder, I was so happy! Can anyone help me? -

I am having a hard time trying to understand all the differnt wicks. Which ones to use for what wax and stuff like that. Is there a website somewhere that has a breakdown of all this so I can understand what is going on?

Does anyone know where I can get or what fo's to mix to make Amber sunset(yankee) or Amber romance(victorias secret)? Those are 2 of my favorite smells.

I am eagerly awaiting some of the items I have ordered. Cant start untill I get them. They should have been here about 2 weeks ago. I found out the seller hadnt even mailed them out yet. So he did so on fri. Hopefully they come soon. Cant wait. I have already bought A lot of stuff. That way I can do some dabbling!! -
I am just starting out and noticed everyone seems to have a preference. I just want to get an idea of what others use. I know it will take me a while to find one for me. I want highly fragerenced candles. I love having my home smell amazing! I keep seeing waxs on here but I don't understand all the numbers and letters in them. Thanks for everyones help thus far. This site has helped me so much already!! Sherri

Wood Wick Candles

At first the WW candles burn amazing. But since they have a wood wick when it burns down further you get the black stream burning off the candle. I am not very candle savvy right now. They do smell amazing. I only burn them when I am taking a bath. But the further you burn them down the more problems you seem to have. I have heard a lot of complaints from people about these too. -
I went to wal mart. It was a presto pot. I figured that was not the one I was looking for.Maybe they are sold out. I was hopingto find one soon though. I want to start making frangrence du jour.

I was told to buy a presto pot to start everything, I went up to the store today and they have a $60 and $70 one.I was told the one I need is 23. I couldnt find it anywhere. What one am I looking for? Also what kind of scale do I need? Will a postal scalework? Helpme I am clueless. Also about the heat gun, I was told an embossing gun would work as well. Is there a certain one I have to get or will anything work for now.Thanks to everyone on the boards for being so helpfull.

Thanks for everyones help. This weekend I should be able to start. I got my first fo's today. I dont have anything to compare them to but they smell amazing!! My wax should be here by tomorrow. I am hoping. I bought from 3 different people. 2 of them are soy flakes and the other one is a pariffin and soy blend in a block so I thought I would start with that. I found a supplier in my state now too so I am going to order some from them soon too. Hopefully I find the right stuff.I am sure sooner or later I will!!

i was just searching around ebay to get an idea. What kind of wattage am I needing? I found a decent priced one that has 356 and something else degrees. I really do not know what I am talking about.ahhh
