  1. does anyone actually use a Presto Pot for cooking?! ;)

i've yet to start making candles as i'm forever researching.. but am interested in a specific wax melter like the ones available at http://www.wenesco.com/wax2.htm#waxtop and would be interested to here any advice or experience from users of these (ie. is the thermometer accurate and does this mean i can keep the wax at this temp for hours - meaning can i do other stuff in between drawing the wax off?)

We have a 500# wax melter. Water jacket. It is on 24/7 and is energy efficient. We always have wax ready!

  2. Hi All,

Please help me before I go crazy!!! icon_mad.gif I cannot take it anymore! I cannot remember for the life of me how I put text on a photo before. I have the following programs:

    Nero Startsmart

    Film Factory (Epson)

I know it was so easy when I did it, but now I cannot remember how I did it.

Thanks for any and all help!

  3. Dont cut the old images. When you cut you actually copy to clipboard. Select the image and either delete or go to image properties and change them to the new ones. I havent used frontpage in a long time but if it doesnt work send me a link to the webpage and a link to the images you want in it and I will do it and send it back then you can open in frontpage and upload

Thanks for the offer :highfive: I am just going to turn it over to my webmaster who is my neighbor. I hate to always bother him because he does not charge us anything and I know it takes a lot of time. I really must take a class on web design. I know that I can learn this stuff!

    Thanks!

  4. I put 8 foots into stores, and we use a shelving unit, wood ones with independent stores, and the drug stores use their own fixtures.

go to my website, on the home page, down near the bottom is an 8 foot set up in a store. (That's actually a chain account I have in 37 stores)

    www.craftycandles.ca

Notice the groupings, and labeling is very important in stores. Notive the space between the shelves as well. Labels are on the front, and make it so that the cutomer handles the product as little as possible. stores have breakage-and that's what will happen with handling. No hangtags-they flip off to easy.

    Hope that helps

What a nice site. However, I noticed a typo you might want to change. It says at the bottom that "people can sPell them coming down the street... should it be sMell them? Maybe this is a play on words of some sort, but I thought I would bring it to your attention.

I love your space in the store!

  5. Terri what does GFS stand for?

Gordon Food Service........... I think:rolleyes2 You should be able to get them at any Sams Club, BJ's etc. They are just the souffle (sp?) cups that restaurants use to put sauces in. They are so cheap and great to use. I figure, I always make tarts when I have a new fragrance, so I just pop one in and then I have a sample to sniff............................. When I discontinue a FO, I can just throw my sample away!

  6. I've been looking into melters for a few weeks now...trying to figure which ones are better...the Convection Melter or the Water Jacket Melter. Wenesco has melters that range from $250 up to $4000:shocked2: those hold like 420lbs though!!...I can probably improvise!

I have a 500# melter that I got used for $750 from someone who was going out of business. He was withing driving distance to my house. Candlewic (I believe) sells it for $1500. It is water jacketed. It works like a charm! We love, love , love it! Before that, we were using 3 turkey roasters. Hubby and I both make candles!

You will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER regret spending the money on a melter!:laugh2:
