  1. Your soaps are awesome! If I had those I would be so anxious to get in the shower just to try them out
  2. Good tip about the no peeking. As a newbie you know it's so hard, but I'll try . Thanks to you all!
  3. good to know scented. They do look a little better since I cleaned them up. Practice, practice, practice. I have not been in the mood to make anything this week since it has been so hot, no A/C @ home is brutal. :undecided
  4. Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Carrie, I didn't know what to make of the ash in the white portion of the swirls. Does it eventually go away, is this a normal part of the curing process?
  5. Hi all, I have been a member of this board for a few months and I love reading your posts and seeing all of your pix. Thanks for sharing! Like many of you, I started out with M&P earlier this year and bought all of the supplies for CP but it took me a while to get the confidence. This is my 2nd batch of CP ever and my 2nd swirl attempt (yea I jumped the gun, my 1st batch and tried it:grin2: ) anywho the pastel colored batch is Citrus energy bar e/o used and the purple one is scented with Drakkar f/o. thanks http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/2ndswirlattempt.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/citrus-swirl.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/swirl-side.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/drakkar-swirl.jpg
  6. I learned the same way too...I dont have central A/C at home so my house is a hot box and on humid days when I open the lye bottle it seems to clump in seconds. :undecided In the future, I will probably save soapmaking for the cooler days.
  7. Kaybee you are right on with your "essentials" list. I found out the hard way about using plastic cups to hold my different e/o. The e/o blend I used melted right through a disposable plastic drinking cup! What a mess I made and all that e/o wasted. Now I use glass pyrex measuring cups for this.
