  1. I came up with a set of candles scents to offer together as a gift set, but still debating on whether to go with votives or a small container candle.

The scents I will be using are: Mai Tai, Tahitian Daquari, Mojito, Cappuccino, Chai Tea, Hot Cocoa(last two are still under consideration).

The entire set will be marketed under the name: Saturday Night and Sunday Morning with three scents on one side of the gift set, and the other three on the other side.

Just wondering if anybody out there had any feedback about different scents to use, or the name!

  2. Today, or well yesterday if you're on the east coast, I filed my DBA(sole prop.), filed for sales tax id#, and got my Fed EIN(though I didn't need it right now, but always looking ahead to the future!).

So, as of July 14th, 2006: Island Breezes Candles and More is official!:grin2:

We will officially open the website to the public for orders on August 1st!!!

  3. This is probably a stupid question, but was wondering if anyone utilized a blog as a part of their business? This is another item I am on the wall about right now, but I do know for a fact that some big corporations use them as a marketing tool to reach out for feedback from customers.

Just wondering out loud while doing some research...time for bed, way too late at night to be working.

  4. I've been looking into maybe offering mud masks as a part of my line, but the info I got from From Nature with Love says that the mask needs to be used immediately after mixing your clay and water.

If I were to use for instance, my clay, distilled water, and a preservative, do you think this would hold up? I guess I'm answering my own question about testing, but was wondering if anyone had tried this, or offers it themselves.

  5. Carol-

Don't have a retail location as of yet, but it is in our business plan. Actually, have a friend in NJ, who owns three retail locations, one in Woodbridge mall, who is going to start carrying our products.

As for the counters, yeah, that was never in my plan for the website, I hate those things. I thought the guestbook would be a good idea, but being a business I was kind of on the wall about it, perl's suggestion actually made up my mind for me, so it was taken out.

I've still got some work to do as you can see, taking pictures, getting descriptions together, getting the shopping cart up(at least I got it working!), and hopefully it will all come together in the next few weeks!

    Thanks for the comments!

  6. Thanks for the professinal perspective on the web site perlgoodies, I really do appreciate your insight into it. I did notice that the nav menu moved around a lot, and i did fix the font on the main page, which will change again I'm sure. Also, I was really on the wall about the guestbook, but seems as though I will drop it now. thanks again for the advice.
