  1. I haven't smelled Sweet Cakes. They were both recommended to me and since WSP had a couple other things I could throw in with my order I went with them. Dirty ashtray? I don't think so. OOB I thought it was too heavy on the cherry and was really disappointed. I decided to go ahead and test it anyway and I'm really glad I did. I had several people here where I work say they really liked it.

Darbla I'd be happy to send you some to try.

  2. I would recommend that you start out with just a regular cp soap batch and after you make a couple of those switch to goat milk. I know there will be plenty of people pop up and say they started making soap with animal milk. Truth is though it is a tad bit more touchy than a water or coconut milk soap. Just my two cents worth. Kathy Miller's site is an excellent starting place.

  3. One of the first fo's I ever bought was om&h from Bramble Berry. It is one that is heavy on the almond scent. This has by far been my best selling cp soap. Time and again I have sold out of it. I had requests for it in a candle and I made them for her but I didn't find it to be a strong smelling candle scent.

  4. I wish there was a scent like Ciao Bella's Amber Sambaca That whole amber sandalwood vanilla, ect ...well here is the whole ingredients list: http://www.myskinsoapstudio.com/category.sc?categoryId=16

Seriously my husband reacts to that scent when I wear it. I would spend a lot of money and time working to make a candle throw right with it if there was an fo that smelled like it. I call it liquid sexy yum.

For me any romantic scent would be deep like it is.

  5. I'm terrible. I just have these big boxes that I write in magic marker on the outside. Just the wick size and if it is one of my regular jars I say that too. I am guessing that those clear shoe box containers from Walmart might work good. You could write on the end the wick size and just stack them up.

  6. SharonH,

How difficult is it to remove the wick tabs if you use the glue? We are always testing new scents, and with the stickumms, I don't have a problem removing them - not sure how the glue would work in that case.

When I am testing wicks I pour a jar with no wick. While the wax is still a bit soft I run a bamboo skewer down the center of it. I stick my wick down in that hole. As quick as you light the wick the wax fills the hole and you are good to go. Need to change wicks? Take a pair of pliers and pull the wick out and stick a new one in the hole and go again.

I use a glue pot I bought at Michael's craft store. I used the wick stickers before that and I would never go back. Ever.

  7. I think there is confusion because there is a mix of weights and volume measurements. One pound is 16oz by weight and for my wax that measures to roughly 20oz by volume in a measuring cup.

You really need to learn to weigh it all. Once you learn to do it that way you can do anything.
