Thank you all for the advice
On my first test I poured at 95 C and added 2 tsp of stearic, but the wax would not come out of the mould, (also heated the aluminium mould), banged it slapped it, put it in the freezer, it just wouldn't give.
I think 2nd attempt with the 4 tsp of stearic and maybe only 2 tsp of the palm fat I would have had better results (and pouring hotter than I did), though I think the result I got (although not great on the photo) looks quite nice DH even liked it! :smiley2: I'm going to remelt and try a higher meltpoint
which wick would you recommend with this palm wax? any starting points would be appreciated
This is fun

Okay, hope this pic turns out, never posted a pic before,
Not a great photo (sorry) looking at the other patterns for this wax I'm thinking the additives have changed the pattern some what but I still like it I poured at 182, maybe a little hotter would have given a better pattern - I don't know.

Hi
Firstly, Thank you Inez for sending me the samples, very much appreciated.
I have only tested the Granite so far, I too had the same problem as Natty (would not come out of the mould ........ tried everything! :undecided - oh well one damaged mould! :smiley2:
Anyways I then tried again (not one to give up:D)
I added 4 tsp of Stearic and 4 tsp of the palm fat ........ aaannd ...... it came out great ...... Love it!! - still need to figure out which type of wick to use .... will post a pic once I have charged up the battery on my camera!

Hi Wix'n'wax
I have tons of labels, transparent ones too.
Have you thought of using a stamp on the hang tags?

just had the postage through' date=' more than I thought but still cheaper to get from US.
$30 postage makes it about £31 as opposed to £45 here. Annoying thing is, now I've gotta wait, got roughly $57 in paypal, and it comes to $62, mind you could go for 3 square and 2 round I suppose.[/quote']
Hi wix'n'wax

Hi
yes love that one too, didn't realize you were from CT when I sent it ....... would have popped in a free sample I'll be getting a lot of oils made here in the UK soon so prices will come down but will take some time testing so will be a while - I will be on the look out for a tester too

thanks Gaynor' date=' thats roughly $110 ish.
Hi Stella, yep I tried that but didn't have the starting zip code
theres a lovely looking auction on ebay, but its so much stuff the box weighs 25lb lol. Lady was looking into postage but so far had only found global express at $300.[/quote']
UPS will cost a fortune! - USPS is your best bet:rolleyes2 - think the quote was $102 so a little less:yay: not sure what the conversion rate is a the mo, just roughly guessed the price.
-
Has anyone any idea how much it would be for someone to send something to the UK weighing about 25lb? and would surface be cheaper?
thanks
Hi Wick'nWax
25lb to the UK is approx £55 Priority Mail 6 - 10 days.

Hi NattyCat
I totally agree with you, I don't know how some ebayers make a profit, that is either selling candle supplies or candles, but I guess it all comes down to quality and I have seen you're website and I can say it shouts quality! and being a buyer and seller all I want is the best quality, the best burning candles! I would rather pay more and get better quality.
I hate the ebay feedback system, I had some buyer put down (in the feedback score .... silly star sytem) disptatch time was a little slow!!! I post that day or the next!! really gets to me I go out of my way, not that I've had a neg but those damn stars ...... I hate them!!!
On a final note....... I thought I had addictions ...... but not a fraction as you have :lipsrseal

Lived in Dusseldorf and Dortmund (not sure if spelt that right sorry)

Hi
I'm in the UK, the only place I can think of without buying off the internet is HobbyCraft, though you will pay a lot more, i'm sure someone else from the UK will chip in with some advice on other places. Good Luck.

Thanks Sabrina
I know I have RRD Wicks, think I have the 36 Ply, I also have the eco wicks. Yep i'm thinking maybe 3 to 4 tsp of stearic would have done the trick without the palm fat.
Decided i'm not going to melt yet, i'll test some wicks and update later on today with some photo's
Thanks
