  1. How small of a batch was it? I'm assuming about a 1 pound oil batch? I'm not sure how rebatching is going to help if you have too much fragrance oil. I suppose a certain amount of it will "cook off" during the rebatch process but you've still got 3x the amount of FO you would normally use. The solvents from the FO are still going to be there. What about making it into chunks or confetti and using it another batch?
  2. When I've done craft shows, I've just used the access number provided to me by my merchant account and I do pre-authorizations. No extra equipment to buy.....I just use my cellphone and key the numbers in.
  3. Far be it from me to split hairs (ahem), but Bobby was the one who sold Greg tonic for his hair....Oliver was just along for the ride.
  4. I hate to split hairs, but I'm really confused. Why is it okay for people to put links to their own candle and soap websites in their signatures but it's not okay for me to put my links page on here? I'm not a supplier. I'm a person like every other candlemaker on here. This is my personal website. I don't get why this is self-promotion when I'm not experiencing any monetary gain from it. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but color me confused.
  5. Bumping for the mods since I don't know how to find you. In regards to my post...that was not an affiliate ID that I posted. It was a link to my own plug board on my site. I do not receive ANY funds from plug-board. It was a way for others here to post their link on a plugboard that belongs to me in an effort to help each other network. The ID referred to here is my page ID not an affiliate ID.
  6. The Cetrimonium Chloride, I believe, is serving as an emulisfying conditioner. I think the sodium styrene is probably a co-polymer of sorts and the two of them together are probably what's holding the water and cyclo together because I was always under the impression the two wouldn't mix. The polysorbate 20 will help the fragrance oil bind to the water. It's sometimes known as Tween 20. You can probably make something just as good if not better than this by watering down her regular hair conditioner with water in a spray bottle and then just mist it on. The cyclo is just adding to the shine by smoothing the hair shaft....I'm sure that helps with the tangles, but too much cyclo and you can easily look like a grease ball. Ask me how I know. The Herbarie . com has some great recipes for hair conditioners. You could always make one of those and then water it down.
  7. In an oil based scrub I like liquapar optima, I'm not sure that germaben II will give you the protection you want since there is no water in a scrub product. 1% is the maximum usage rate most preservatives like LP and GII. You definitely need a preservative in a sugar scrub. If any bacteria gets introduced to the mixture the sugar will just serve as food to help it keep growing.
  8. I order from them.....good pens, but I agree with some of the posters above...the paint with your information eventually wears off, but by that time the pen is usually out of ink. Here's what I put on my pens business name city, state, zip phone website address I love to hand out the pens or leave them at various places. The nice thing about them is that if you order from them once they'll always send you a new pen about once a month.
  9. I've started using plugboards lately and it's almost like a new addiction. Have any of you been trying it? www.plug-board.com <edit by mod to remove affiliate ID> I'm also a part of a site where you can list your plug board in a directory, too. http://www.craftyplugplace.com It's all about networking. Just thought I'd share.
  10. I use the HTP126's too and love 'em. The 1212's gave off too much soot, the 105's just didn't have enough "oomph."
  11. I've seen those Clark Valley Candles in the store. I think at one point they were pouring into the sugar shakers, too. Congrats on your anniversary.
  12. Isn't aromatherapy true only if real essential oils are being used? I thought if you used fragrance oils it was considered to be aromacology.
