Hi, Thanks for the advice. Didn't quite understand the chart (I'm very new to this:undecided ) but I would have thought that double wicking a 4in wide container with 2 HTP 105s would have worked in getting the wax to melt edge to edge but it didn't. Being that I live in Japan, I can't just easily go out and get a whole bunch of wicks to try-NOBODY makes candles and there are no craft shops except perhaps in Tokyo. For anyone using ecosoya cb pure and who makes pretty large candles, which wick works best for you? Is there a wick that is so great that I wouldn't have to double wick a 3 or 4in wide container? Does anyone make candles in containers other than tin or glass? How does that work for you? Again, what wick works best for you? Thanks!! sofiajp

Hi everyone, I am happy to have found this forum. Have done a lot of reading but still have some questions. I'm using the ecosoya cb pure and love how it looks but even with nothing added I can't get a proper burn pool. Yes, I'm new to candle making so forgive me for any stupid questions. I have made tinned candles-6oz using HTP 105 which didn't work; glass-which was ok and I'm trying to use pottery as containers. Now, I just tested a 4 in wide double wicked container and it didn't melt to the edges. Could it be the container? I read on one web site that cold (as in winter) can affect the burning-could it be too cold here? Little background-I live in Japan (forgive any English mistakes please-I forget so many things!! :undecided ) and we don't have central heat (no one does)and yes it is cold enough to snow and though we sometimes use room heaters it isn't that often (been here too long and am used to it!). There are so many wicks to choose from I just don't know what to do and since i have to have everything shipped here I need to be choosy. I have only tried the HTP 83 or 105. What about CDs or hemp or paper core or RRD or Eco etc? Perhaps I just switch wax? Any ideas? thanks, sofiajp
