Just Scent has a few really good mixers. I like to mix their “Smarties Type”, “Sour Patch Type”, and “Effervescent Fizzy Pops”. Quite a few companies do variations on sour flavors, but I just find the JS to be super strong. As one of my kids said while I was pouring candles, “That scent makes my nose pucker!”

Thank you, that sounds exactly like what I'm looking for!

  2. I just got word that my banana scent is discoloring products... It's an old one I purchased unlabeled from a destash but whatever it is, it's gotta go. I'm planning on placing an order from Nature's Garden soon, and they've got a bunch of banana scents. Has anyone tried any of them? I can't decide which to pick up.

JS’s Cotton Candy Super Strong has the best throw in candles & melts out of the ones that I’ve tried. Their Blue Cotton Candy also throws GREAT for me ! I use either IGI 6006 or ProBlend 600 ( both container & tart bless ) for reference.

Their Cotton Candy Frosting is also good. My absolute fave Cotton Candy, the one that I find the most realistic, is MMS’s Cotton Candy, but while it does have good throw for me, it requires more curing than the others mentioned & it’s not as strong as the Super Strong. It’s my fave in my sugar scrubs too, when I make them.

I probably just confused you more than help you, sorry 😩😂 Cotton Candy oils are my FAVE to pour & to burn, so I’ll be paying attention to the other replies along with you, lol.

I also like cotton candy super strong from Just Scents, and I also like Sugared from wsp for cotton candy.

  4. Update on this, I finally got that cotton candy FO from Just Scents and its great! Still not as strong as my original but the scent is exactly the same, and it's still the strongest one I've found since my original bottle. Just another note, I got my hands on "Sugared" from wsp after hearing about it on this server and it's a pretty good cotton candy mixer. Nice and strong too. Maybe I'll mix the two

Can I ask you if the bubblegum is more like bubblelicious or more like Bazooka ? Most places are Bazooka, & while I don’t mind it, I much prefer the Bubblelicious type bubblegum.

I do have Bubblegum from VA candle supply & it’s PERFECT, but someone here made a thread not so long ago saying that her first orders from there, the oils were nice & strong, but the second larger order, they were completely different, so I’m still on the hunt for my perfect bubblegum. Thanks !

I'm not too familiar with Bubblelicious or Bubblicious gum, but the oil reminds me a lot of those dubble-bubble candies and gumballs. It's definitely more of a carnival/nostalgic scent for me!

Soy wax for candles is really brittle by nature. It is  soy bean oil that is hydrogenated to a higher level than typical shortening  to create a stiffness that customers like that will  hold color and fragrance etc. Most soy candle waxes also contain additives to further stiffen to adhere to jars and hold even more fragrance.

coconut waxes can remain pretty sticky, and about the texture of various brands of shortening from the grocery store.

if stickiness is not a problem, you could use shortening from the grocery store. Melt and pour that over your iceberg type object and it will coat fine.  If you can find that old canning paraffin wax our grandmothers used to use when making jams, melting some of that into the shortening will create a more durable “skin” like what you would find in a chocolate ganache.

you can mix your soy wax flakes into shortening found at the grocery store to see if you can achieve a softer, smoother soy. Test different proportions to find one that has the feel you like.

or you could go the paraffin route.  Container paraffin wax will vary from vaseline texture to rubbery, and all stages in between.  IGI 4786 will remain rubbery, not sticky, and can be pushed through if it is thin.  It holds color and fragrance well if you are using that.  To see if that will work, McCalls candles sold at places like cabelas will give you an idea of how the wax will look and feel.  When poured thin I will skin.  When poured thick (like a candle) it will be hard to push through.

Thanks so much, I saw this right as I was about to head to the grocery store! I'll pick up some shortening to mix with the soy and see how things turn out. I do have a block of paraffin wax but it's so old that I have no recollection of what type it is; I'll try it out too just in case.

  7. Big NG sellers for me include Fresh Strawberry, Sugary Lollipops (I sell as Blue Raspberry Lemonade), Honeydew Pear, Bubblegum, and Stormy Nights (I sell as Clean Cotton). Scents I wouldn't recommend are Creamy Coconut and Fresh Brewed Coffee. I don't own a lot from them, but that strawberry scent is a killer! My customers never stop complimenting it - not artificial at all.

  8. Let me preface this by stating that I have never made candles or worked with wax before. I'm totally ignorant! So maybe this question is obvious and I just missed it.

I'm working on a project that requires the customer to press through a layer of wax (about 4mm in depth) into a soft product. Something like an iceberg, if that helps you visualize. My goal is to have the wax soft enough that when mixed together with the softer product, sharp points of wax do not poke the customer's hands. Currently I have a bag of soy wax flakes from Michaels (don't laugh, it's just what I had on hand) and when I press into the wax, it creates hard pieces that poke me. On the other hand, some of the candles I own have nice and soft wax that crushes easily between the fingers - that's what I want to make!

What sort of additive, or wax, would yield a softer final product? Should I add some sort of oil, or change from soy wax to coconut wax? I realize that this question doesn't exactly fit the forum section, but any general advice would be greatly appreciated.

  9. I ended up calling WSP about something else and asking, according to the representative gold/silver/bronze members used to be auto-jumped to the front of the processing line for orders in order of seniority, but that system was discontinued around a year ago. She says the notification about member levels is hardwired into the system so it's still there but the levels no longer mean anything :(

I don't think it's actually active anymore.  It used to be you'd earn so many points for so many dollars spent...or sometimes if you spent enough on an order you'd get a free gift like a sample size mica powder.  The last time I remember getting anything from it must have been over 5 years ago though.

Thanks for the info! It's a little sad that the program isn't active anymore but wsp hasn't taken away any of the elements of it. Really got my hopes up :(

  11. I wasn't sure which forum to post this on so I hope I picked the right one...

Over the past few years I've purchased from WSP I've always noticed a phrase on my invoices thanking me for being a bronze member, then eventually silver. I never have been able to figure out what this means though - trust me I have scrubbed every inch of their site for information. Does anyone know what this program is, and where I can find necessary info? Does it have something to do with that elusive "coupon vault" I've never gotten a coupon from?

I was just about to comment on this too. My guess would be Just Scent. They have a great cotton candy and also a great blue cotton candy.

Other FO's I like from her are:

    Snicker Doodle

Absolutely Fabulous Cake-a very good coconut cake type scent in my opinion

    Birthday Cake

    Blonde Moment

    Buttery Gingerbread

    Caramel Cinnamon Latte

    Champagne Toast

    Coconut Milk and Lavender

    Country Berry Hotcakes

    Fluffy Towels

    Hazlenut marshamllow Fluff

    ORange Chiffon Cake

    Orange Dreamsicle

    Peppermint Meringue

    Pink Sugar

    Santa Baby

    Chestnuts and Brown Sugar

    Strawberry White Cake

    Serendipity

    Vanilla Patchouli

These are some that I have and have tried. There are more but I can't think of what I have off hand.

Thank you Belinda! I'll place my order and update here if it's the cotton candy I've been looking for.

  13. A couple of years ago I bought a bottle of cotton candy fragrance oil second hand, a scent so strong that it would give me headaches. After trying cotton candy fo's from Flaming Candle, Aztec and finding them too weak, I've realized I just want another copy of the original bottle I purchased. The only problem is that the label is long gone, and even the person I bought from doesn't know where it came from. We found my order confirmation email and the scent was labeled "AS" for the scent supplier, but I showed him this server's list of suppliers starting with A and he didn't recognize any of them. The only info I have is that it came in a 1oz plastic bottle with a black cap, with a shiny plastic label (rather than paper). I realize this is a total shot in the dark but I'm totally desperate... any help would be greatly appreciated!

  14. This is a bit of an unconventional supplier, but the slime supply retailer Kawaii Slime Company carries many of the scents that you mentioned. Unfortunately they only sell in 2oz quantities but if you needed something larger I'm sure you could work something out over email. I personally have only tried the ramune, which is quite true to the actual drink OOB, but I know that the others are also well liked.
