I use EL 100% soy container & EL votive. Bruce is friendly, quick with responses, and helpful.

Now for the comments on them...

100% container definately benefits from a nice slushy pour (~100F). I don't use additives, dyes, or add other waxes to it. I've gotten compliments on cold and hot throws.

Votive has a nice creamy appearance.

I've lit a votive in the special votive testing room (bathroom ).

I haven't let it cure the typical 5-7 days that I normally do. But cold throw isn't great.

Help! I just rec'd some 1oz FO's I ordered. The open-bottle-and-smell strength wasn't very strong. Quite disappointing. I thought maybe,... it'd be stronger when made into a candle. So far, cold throw is barely noticable.

My question... do you expect a strong scent from the bottle? Any exceptions?

When making the first batch of 8 votives (1oz FO/lb. EL votive), the scent wasn't very strong when adding to molted wax. Logically, it seems that the scent would be very strong at that point.

Candle recipe for first batch: heated to 180F, added FO @ 170F, stirred, poured into votive molds @ 150F. Used this recipe for other companies FO, and worked wonderfully.

I bought a couple of those 4-wicks mainly for cold throw and decor before my candle making days. The cold throw on the black cherry was great, but the dye!! I gave up getting the thick sticky mess completely off the holder it was placed on. Last one (& the very last one I'll ever buy) was a cucumber melon. Cold throw was decent and looked great sitting on coffee table. Upon initial lighting, one wick just shriveled up and died, one I couldn't keep going, and two were fine. Poor thing!

I usually check out W-Mart's candles to see what they're peddling. Last week, they did have a tumbler candle made in the US. Don't remember details.

BTW, I don't make paraffin candles, only soy... why the reaction in the above posts to granulations? I noticed some of the 4-wick W-Mart candles have quite evident granulations which come off like the clear beads on christmas-y type candles. I could be wrong here, but YC tarts seem to be made of them. Not that I'm promoting YC, but just comparing.

I go to them for refills and typically pay half of the going retail. Website has zipcode locator. I esp. like the reuse aspect (3R's). We didn't have to wait long for a refill.

Hello candle world! I have been reading, researching, and making candles for only two months now. Mostly, things have gone well.

So far, I have ordered two small batches of FO (1 & 2oz. per FO, respectively). I've had them for about 1.5 months and one month. I have kept them in the HDPE bottles (has synthetic cap liner) in which I had recieved them.

They seem to be losing scent. They're not as strong as the first candles that I made with them. Although they are in the HDPE's, I keep them in an old (clean!) butter tub away from heat and light. The house stays between 68-75F. Also, I do wear a mask while candle cookin'.

Any suggestions anybody? Should I put them in amber glasses in a deep dark tunnel under where I live? Sorry... this is a little frustrating!
