  1. I think it looks great and I love that green!

One thing I noticed was that the 'Son' in Sonflower is hard to see with it being on top of the trees. I also noticed on your policy page the statment about liability. Do you consider this sufficient for insurance purposes? Just curious is all.

Good job, I hope you do well with it!

  2. Sherri, all 3 of the oils you are asking about have a flashpoint of greater than 200 degrees. These are NOT considered hazardous material and are allowed to be shipped internationally via USPS. There are no crazy packaging and labelling rules to follow for these either.

If these are worth the hassle for you and I suspect they are then contact BCN. There is no excuse for these not to be sent to you, they won't be breaking any laws and have to use any fancy or more expensive packaging.

    Good luck Sherri!

  3. AFAIK Solas never shipped to Canada. I recently ordered from Peaks twice with no problems. I hesitate to say that as they may stop shipping USPS too :undecided. I was informed this week that Candle Cocoon is only shipping UPS now too.

I really wish there was more info and reviews of the FOs from Canwax and VCC. I am stocked up for the summer but I think I will start ordering some samplers from them this fall and start my testing over again. I use soy so my choices are more limited than if I used paraffin. I hope some of the US suppliers will consider having distributors here. I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds but hopefully our business is worth it.

  4. DHL is no better than UPS, for me at least. They are both courier services so they both charge brokerage fees. The only difference with DHL is that you get the bill for brokerage about a month later, UPS you have to pay upfront.

  5. I was contacted directly via phone by BCN and they told me they no longer shipped FO's via USPS, period. I also expressed my concerns in a followup email but have heard nothing back.

I only ordered 1 16 oz bottle of FO and it has a flashpoint of greater than 200.

I don't know what volume of their FO orders come from Canada but it will be basically zero now.

I just hope that other suppliers like yourself SoapersWorkshop will be as accommodating.

Geez, most of my fragrances come from the US. I'd seriously have to wonder if I could continue in this biz if I get cut off. Two + years of testing down the drain

  6. I don't see anything really wrong with your site. The only thing that jumped out at me is your prices. In my opinion I feel that you are not charging enough for your products. We all know what goes into perfecting our stuff so don't sell yourself short!

Of course this is just my opinion and I have no idea of your costs.

  7. I just got a call yesterday after I had placed an order for a few things. No more shipping FO's via USPS!:cry2:

WYW has closed here in Canada so Bittercreek was the only place left to get them. Since I can't have stuff shipped via UPS I guess I will have to cross them off my supplier list. Too bad as I have always had excellent customer service from them.

  8. I have suffered with psoriasis all my life and while it's never been debilitating it has been a nuisance.

Try formulating with oils that resemble our own skin's sebum. Jojoba is great as is apricot kernal and almond oil. They will help seal in moisture.

Avoid any mineral oils, petroleum (ie Vaseline) and any synthetic fragrances.

Also, diet plays a major role in controlling this condition.

  9. dpowell, what type of clear labels are you using, the ones from online labels/labelsbythesheet? Also, are you printing in colour on these or just black?

If you print in colour, what setting are you using?

Sorry for all the questions, I have the same printer but haven't used it yet and am trying to decide on what labels to order.

    Thanks!
