Looks beautiful Robin! Congrats on the good job!

It turned out awful!! I unmolded it this morning and it looked like crap, oils and FO leaking out all over. I tossed it. Not soaping that FO again. BTW is was a cucumber melon FO. Evidently others have had luck soaping this FO, but not me. Noted in notebook - don't even attempt to CP soap this FO again!!
-
I think I just had a batch of cp soap rice on me. When I added the FO to it, it looked like cream of wheat, so I kept mixing and mixing, but didn't help. So I went ahead and poured into the log mold to see what will happen. Am I gonna have to pitch this or will it turn out ok??
I was so bummed, this was gonna be my first attempt at layering. Same recipe I use all the time but have never soaped this FO before. The site says soap safe. oh well
-
They're great!
-
Many suppliers list in the description of the FO if it discolors when used in CP or other soaps. Also, titanium dioxide is used to make a batch white.

I haven't seen strawberry guava anywhere. However, several places have raspberry guava.
Here's a site for looking for fragrances: http://www.geocities.com/lwoollen_25/FragranceFinder/index.html

From the information I've read, the kind of wicks have a lot to do with the harmful toxins being released. Lead, lead core, zinc, or wicks with lead containing alloy seem to be ones that contribute to lead poisoning. So if the soot you are refering to contains lead, then I think it's due to the wicks. Hopefully that makes sense.
Edited to add: Beeswax is cleaner burning.

Another thought, maybe easier, is just make pillars using the company's colors and possibly adding their logo and wrap a big bonus check around it. They'll love it!!
-
How about a hurricane candle with something embedded that could be specifically for the employee it's going to?
-
I love going in there and checking out everything. But lately, there are right on your heels trying to sell you stuff. That really bugs me! The past couple times i've gone in there, I hurry right through because if I pick up something to look at it or sniff it, there right there trying to sell it to me. Too pushy!
-
Beautiful soap and I love your labels and packaging.
-
Supplies To Die For has it. I thought most grocery stores carry lye. Usually right by the Draino stuff.
-
Thank you Bunny!! Amazing! I started making cp soap this year and it's overwhelming the amount of info you have to take in and weed through to figure it out and understand it. Expecially with so many oils available. The way you have it broke down like this helps the understanding much better.
-
I hear ya Lynda. It really sucks when they charge you right away but don't ship out your order until a week or two later. And like Scented said, when you get your order there's a note about something back ordered. Or they hold your order because they're waiting on a back ordered item and they don't let you know. For me, it's lack of communication that hurts customer service.

I found a thread at another message board that might help you jvfern.
It's at Bitter Creek - http://www.candlesupply.com/
and the name of the thread on that board is - Cyclomethicone, which FO's mix & which don't!
Hopefully this will help answer your question.
-
The linen sprays and the dry oil body sprays I make with cyclo are big sellers for me. I'd take the time and money to test, I think it's worth it in the long run. The designer scents are more popular for me also.

I hate seeing stuff like this too. People get sucked into their marketing scheme, buy their beginner kit (or whatever it's called) and start trying to recruit other people. It's all about getting more people in their "little" network. I'm sure the people at the top don't really know anything about making candles. Candles is just their "product of choice" right now. I can't see this lasting very long. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
-
I just came across this lye calculator that you download to your harddrive. I haven't checked it out yet, so don't know about the accuracy. Just thought I'd share in case some of you aren't online when you want to run a recipe throught the lye calculators. It's from Washbasin Wonders.

Those are awesome! Good Luck!!

Very beautiful!

Yeah, that's what I thougt you were talking about...the candle jewelry.

Brambleberry has a nice non-discoloring vanilla. I've used it in cp it's great. You're packaging is very cute!
