I noticed on a supplier website that they are now selling insurance (for an additional fee tacked on to your order) to guarantee you will get what you ordered! This is coming from a supplier that already has outrageous shipping charges.
As far as I know, this supplier is not one with a bad reputation for ripping people off, such as taking payments for orders and never delivering the goods. Some suppliers (and I think we all know of some) should be FORCED do offer this, but for the rest I cannot believe they would even indulge the thought of charging extra for doing what they are in the business of doing--packing and shipping orders.
It seems like a mob shake down!
Here is what your insurance will get you:
+ your item will be packaged and shipped via the promised shipping method
+ your item will ship in the timeframe promised
+ you will receive what you ordered as described online
+ all return and refund policies will be honored
+ all payment methods will be honored and there will be no hidden costs

I was all ready to put in an order with this company last week and got to that part on the checkout and actually was so taken back with this new ploy for an additional 35cents of my money I decided I didn't need my order after all. So does that mean that in the future if you don't get the additional insurance and your order is wrong or damaged you are SOL ???

Mmmm that is so gorgeous. I hope that blue stays true. I can't wait to see a before and after on all those colors.
-
They look great to me.

Congratulations on taking the plunge. It is fun and addicting. I still peek even tho' I try not to.
On to the next batch.

Very pretty swirls and colors. I think I got that color also, now I can't wait for the next time I have any free soaping time. I will be trying the copper mica for sure. Thanks for posting the pics. I am sure the cut bars will be awesome.

Perfect....I love snowmen.
-
That is too cool. Let us know if the colors stay true or change.

Mine turned orange too..so now I have orange peppermint. So, I'm going to have to come up with a new name besides peppermint.
Terri when you come up with that name, please share. I could also use one for my orange peppermint soap. LOL
Scented, Your swirlies are gorgeous. I wouldn't care what color they are.
-
Very nicely done. I am sure they will be keeping your plenty busy with reorders.

Hmmm What day is trash day in the Land of Oz?
SWAP THEM BABIES. I am sure that they are a fantastic soap.
-
Dry mud..Michi, OMG .. LOL It is easy to laugh now, but, I am so sure that it wasn't so funny while you were stirring it up. Good thing it was just in your reserved soap.
Yep Scented, that is exactly the colors I had in the beginning and the end results. So I think I am going to start marking on the bags what the end color is so I don't forget before I use them again.
-
What a trip Scented. It might just turn out totally cool when it sits a while.
I still want to see your soap with the Cellini Red Mica. Is it still sort of red?
Pics please.

My red oxide soap, which turned pink on me:
thecandlespastore My Red was sort of pinkish for the first week and then kind of decided on orange. LOL I didn't have any FO in the colored section, but, maybe the peppermint did have something to do my end result.
This will be great to see everyones colors.
Mud soap, LOL sorry Michi but it really does look like thin mud. How did the actual soap turn out?
-
It has been interesting reading what actual colors people are getting with the micas/oxides from the co-op. So I thought maybe we can post pics as we do them so we can see what color to possibly expect. I do suppose that ingredients will play a factor.
Here is my Peppermint soap with Cellini Red Mica. Not the pepermint color I envisioned. LOL but, I will remember it for a soap I want an orange shade to.
I can't wait to see what colors we come up with. I have so many to try out.
-
Love the purple and will have to remember that for the future.
I am going to post a pic of my soap that I did last week end with Celini Red.
Maybe we can just keep adding pics to it and see what the colors actually turned out for everyone.
-
I am glad that the pic is showing now. I kept coming back in hopes of seeing it. That basket is so fantastic and barncat is soooo lucky. Wahoo.
-
Sorry your "blue" decided to fool with ya. I sure do love the top swirling that you did get on there. I am sure it will smell great too. Mmmmm
