  1. I asked the same question on this board last week and peeps were gracious in sharing that it can be found at Lowes. They have 2 lb. containers in the plumbing dept.

Brand name is Roebic. Yellow and red containers. $ 7.66 ea. It was a lot quicker and maybe ? cheaper than ordering and paying shipping if you have one around close.

  2. Congrats Suzie....is there another batch in the near future???

    hewells You know, I'm thinking........YES

I am too excited to decide which one next. lol

Hibiscus you will find that scale to be one of your best purchases, for soap and candles you will not be sorry for the expense.

I am excited to see everyone elses soap for more inspiration...Wahoo

Oh Scented I think your soaps are beautiful. I am not sure what color mine will end up yet, it is in the air (pun intended) but, I think those micas will be great to play with.

    edited to add.

I got 15 bars out of this batch.(4 lb log) How many do you think we will need for a swap at the end? On to my next batch soon....

  3. Thanks all of you for your encouragement. I have pics of the cut soaps and the mysterious swirls are just kind of shy. lol I am so excited, just like I gave birth. My dh must think I am kind of silly, but, I am so proud. I could not have done it without all your help and encouragement. They are by no means beautiful, but they are MINE.

I am no longer a virgin soaper I am now a soaper in progress.

I used BNL Olive Blossom and Chameleon mica (from the co-op)

    Wahoo...:yay: :yay: :yay:

Magsglass you were right they did lighten, now to see what color they end up :bump:

  4. O.K. I peeked at my "soap" this morning and I am going to post two pics. The first one is when I think it was gelling around the edges?? and the second one is this mornings peek. The little color you see in the front corners is my attempt at swirling in the pot. LOL I was so anxious when I poured it into the mold I didn't pay any attention to the swirl and I am not sure where it is hiding. :shocked2:

I was expecting to see white soap? Does this look right? it is 16 hours since I put it to bed. I used Olive , Coconut and Palm and a recipe that came with it from ebay from the person I bought my log mold from.

    Help!!

  5. Well, I am excited to say that my first batch ever had been in the mold for approx. 3 1/2 hours now. I had to peek at it, I couldn't stand the suspense any longer.:rolleyes2 It seems to be gelling around the outer edges ??? From all the pictures I have seen in tutorials, they seemed to gel from the center first. Is mine o.k.? I have it wrapped in a large towel and a blanket and it is HOT. I am wondering if I have it wrapped too much. What do you think? :undecided

  6. I will agree on the weights for wind. A gal had a booth next to ours last summer and she made beautiful stained glass art. She had them hung on hangers that were attached to her canopy all around. I am sure you can picture the results when the wind picked up her canopy and dumped it on the ground and into our canopy. We were o.k., but her beautiful pieces were in pieces.

  7. Thanks Magsglass We do have a Lowe's that is new & not too far from here. I will get my husband to cart me there this week end since I know I would get lost. LOL Thanks for the help. I will get back with you for the links if I can not get a hold of any there.
