  1. You can experiment with oatmeal. It took me a couple of times to get it just right. About 4 short pulses in the grinder is about the texture I like. The bigger you leave the oatmeal the more exfoliating it is. I use coffee grounds & cornmeal in my gardeners soap it works great. Cranberry seeds are good and they add a bit of color to the soap also.

  2. I used Peak's Coconut Milk in a batch of CP soap and the results were NOT good so I gave the rest of the bottle to my sister. She uses it in her CP soap and really likes it. I am convinced there is not a good coconut f/o to put into CP soap.

All of other scents I have used from Peak's have been top notch and long lasting in soap but I was disappointed in this one.

  3. That silicone liner was really, really stuck in there tight and the flat spatuala didn't work and credit card didn't either so I took the mold apart. It was super easy putting it back together. So not a problem at all and I have 18 beautiful bars of Black Raspberry Cream with great swirls curing on the curing rack.

  4. Most of my soap sales are people that have heard about my soap and they just stop in and look at the soap on my rack and choose a bar or two or three, pay & leave. I have been using cigar bands but even after 2/3 months they sometimes loosen up to where they don't fit tight around the bar.

The majority of the soap bars people buy are goatsmilk soap. So here is my question ... would it look tacky if after they purchase the bar I just slip each bar into a 3 x 4 muslin bag with a tie string & putting a card in the bar also with the ingredient list. I was also thinking of stamping a decal of a goat on the bag. My goatsmilk bars are more of a chunky cut than normal size bars so I don't use the Tank cutter for them.

Or I could use an organza bag .. prices on them are very reasonable.

    Suggestions or opinions are appreciated.

  5. I will give you the short version of the story. As I was filling my mold I got some (actually quite a bit) of raw soap down between the silicone line & mold. It's a log mold and although I know I can probably take the mold apart I am wondering if I can get it screwed back together again. I am positive the liner itself won't be sliding out of the wooden mold as it will be stuck there when the soap hardens.
