  1. I saw them but I wasn't sure if they were flip top so I e-mailed them. They never responded. What is up with customer service everywhere???? Sheesh

    Hi Melissa,

I can assure you that I did reply to your email on 7/28/2009 at 1:43 PM (7 min after you sent the email to us). Chances are it wound up in your Spam folder. You use Yahoo and they are really bad about misclassifying email as spam. It is our policy to answer any and all email that we receive as quickly as possible. On rare occations, an email may slip through, but that was not the case this time.

    Thank you for understanding,

  2. Either type of plastic will work fine for lotions. It is more a personal preference issue on what you like the look of.

Keep in mind that bottles are sold by the volume capacity, which means that in an 8 oz bottle is designed to hold 8 fluid ounces of product. To determine fill level, you can use a liquid measuring cup and put 8 oz of water into a bottle. This will show you the fill line of the bottle. You should not fill the bottle any higher than that point. Over filling a bottle can lead to catastrophic failure of the container when the product warms up (Left in a hot car) and expands.

    I hope this information helps,

  3. Thanks for the Bayousome link. They look great! It says they work well if correctly applied. How do you apply them? And does anyone know which sizes fit 2 oz and 8 oz bottles? I'm not sure my own ruler-measuring will be accurate enough and I don't have time to mis-order and reorder correctly...

The size of the seal is directly related to the size of the cap required for the container. Cap sizes are denoted as Neck Diameter/Thread Style (20/410, 24/410, Etc)

To install the seals, you should make sure the lip of the container is clean and free of oily residue. This is easily accomplished by wiping with a paper towel and some Isopropyl Alcohol. I will be adding instructions to the web site in the next few days. Jar sized seals come with instructions in the pack.

You should test the seals with your product to ensure compatibility prior to shipping to your customer.

  4. Most tubes will tolerate up to 160 degrees for pouring temps. I spoke at length with my manufacturer about this when I saw another company advertising "Hot Pour" Lip Balm Tubes. All lip balm tubes are hot pour. The temp they were advertising is the same temp for all lip balm tubes. Basically, they were just using a marketing tactic to make it seem like their product was superior, when in fact, it was the same. Not a marketing tactic I personally like, but it's unfortunately proven.

All lip tubes are not the same. The manufacturer you spoke to may not make the "Cold Fill" tubes, but they are out there. I know because we purchased a large batch, on the surplus market a couple of years ago, and later found out from the manufacturer that they were designed to be cold filled. Cold filled tubes are filled by inserting the product as a "plug" once it has already been hardened in a mold. We wound up droping them in the dumpster, as we did not want to carry something that was problematic.

The hot fill tubes are designed to have melted liquids poured into them. There is still a great deal of the cold fill tubes on the surplus market. We advertise as "Hot Fill" tubes in order to point out that these are not the same ones that are being sold on the surplus market which we USED to carry.

  5. Hello

I went to your site at BayouSome.com and I wanted to know if you sell the gold containers for powder also are liners the little sliver covering that are on the opening of your bottles.

The powder shakers are only photo props, and the BayouLock liners are pressure sensitive foam liners that have sealed for your protection on them. Just like a spice jar.

  6. I gave Bill some information from some manufacturers that I found, but I don't know what ever happened about it. They have very large minimums for them.

I too was using the 2 oz natural twist ups for my lotion bars and my supplier quit carrying them also.

I was sure hoping that Bill was going to be able to get them. I hate the ones that look like a deodorant lol and the others are way too small. I ended up with natural push-ups, but I don't care for push-ups. I want the 2 oz natural twist ups!! dang it.......

I contacted the companies, and most of them did not want to deal with me, as I was "competition" to them, or they sent me somewhere else to purchase and those people viewed me as a competitor. One of the companies had recently been purchased and moved. I will have to try them again, and see if they will deal with me.

    Bill
