  1. Something to keep in mind from my experiences is the room temp that it's being poured in as well. I had issues all summer long not really figuring out the issue but now that it's winter a 185 mix temp with a 155 pour temp works perfectly. Something to think about.

No signs of notifications on Flaming's site that I could see, but Aztec is notifying by fragrance ... not a one-time note, but if you click on the scent they tell you what's going down.

Just a heads up for Flaming they should not be affected. We use the same manufacturer that they do and when speaking to the owners at a trade show this month it was the first thing I asked about. He said they stockpile a 6 month supply of their aromaticchemicals and do not suspect they will be impacted. He said there is a slight possibility it there might be some out of stocks for a short period at the end of the 6 months but they are in no way reformulating any products.

Ah got ya.  I just installed a spigot on my Presto, so hopefully I don't run into the same issues as you did.  For my small time operation, it is probably enough for now.

I would just make sure your seal is tight and use plumbing tape, same principal as plumbing it will create a tigher seal so liquid doesn't escape.

  4. Currently using a 270# waterjacket for melting the wax from flake form and then a 60 # direct heat with pump attachment for pouring after scent is mixed. currently looking for a 300#+ size as our current larger melted is causing a bottleneck of only being able to heat enough wax for 600 or so candles per day. We've only bough used melters as I've never paid more the  half of retail cost this way buy on the flip side now I have to wait for a 300#+ to pop up before I can buy

  5. Just got the gun from rite here myself. It's super helpful and has allowed us to up production but to be honest if I had to do it again, I'd probably go with a different company. The gun leaks after the trigger is released unless it is perfectly level and their automation system is bull. Good luck trying to figure out the time aspect back to what you were using before if you change volume. Still better then hand pouring but frustrating for the money.

When Peak was here and literally a 2 minute drive from where I worked at the time, I picked up my wax and other Peak supplies all the time. That was so nice, and then I was going to do it again, only in much bigger quantities (like a pallets worth of wax) only to find out that they closed up shop in the middle of the night and moved everything to PA (sort of, but really gave NO warning to their local customers) so I was SOL. I have only bought from them once or twice since because I'm still upset about it.

When I am ready to order my wax again, I will do it on an LTL truck, and have a pallet shipped to me. Having it shipped that way will save me money, and will also give me quantity discounts, and that much also for me will literally last me a lifetime. (But I think I will order from Lonestar not Peak also)

Give me about a year and you'll have a candle supply company back in Colorado. We're in the process of moving ourselves and business out to the Denver area and plan on filling that hole in the market.
