  1. I only saw granular paraffin from the U.S so far. I see Alibaba has granular soy. I'll keep looking. thanks!
  2. I am using a wooden wick with a stable clip. So it is stable and safe. Trouble is that the clip can be buried in solid wax once the pools reaches it. Then it would be hard change tabs + wick. I'm planning on selling only the sand, wooden wick, maybe add a tiny mason jar. as a kit + refills. I don't like selling $50+ items. Hard sell. So I wouldn't be selling this candle.
  3. I put the shapes out of wood and make silicone molds from them.
  4. I melted soy wax, blew it through a nozzle to granulate it. (super messy) After sifting the mess, I got soy sand! Tutorial Here
  5. i got 2.5in circles. But my stickers are spaced 3 mm differently on the page. versus the avery template. both are so simulair but the 3mm maligns the printing. I found a Microsoft word template that works ok.
  6. I love blank stickers. I can buy bulk and know it will always be used. Problem. I bought bulk cheaper ones. There is no software that allows me to easily print on them. The template for avery design and print software is slightly different. I didn't buy avery because it's 4x cost of unbranded ones. I can make my own template and copy and paste. but I am lazy. Are there any other solutions?
  7. I figured out a way to efficiently make wax luminaries. Problem is I use alot of wax for this method so the material cost is high. Example picture. I calculated getting 60% from consignment with local gift stores. Question is. Do you think retail price of $25 is too high? 11inches tall, 4in outer diameter, paraffin wax luminary. The margin is only 59%. I wanted more in the 75% but I can't do it without raising prices. My labor cost is already efficient. Now I see why a local company does not sell these, they only rent them. They are too expensive to make. Your thoughts?
  8. i have burn videos here https://www.instagram.com/bathaway.canada/
  9. Square Braided Candle Wick (#5/0) For common type up to 2" diameter. from candlechem.com I switched to 28-24, Cotton, 2.90, 1/4"-3/4" dia. works better, very hard to find.
  10. Thanks for your concern. Safety is #1. I thickened it to 1.5 inches and made it under 6in tall, 4in base. It's more stable than a taper candle in a holder. yes, the columns are stable. The wicks burn out before reaching the base. I wanted the wicks to cross each other but I was afraid one wick will cross first and topple the second wick. My only challenge is burn time. 1.5hrs is very fast! I'm using Square Braided Candle Wick (#3/0) For 1/2" - 3/4" diam. tapers -
  11. There are 2 wicks in the middle. The 2 wicks split to each side!
  12. i was concerned about using the word "frame" because I don't want people putting flammable objects in the middle. I will not use the word "frame" anymore. Thanks! It burns for 1.5hrs. lol! more decorative and novelty
  13. I finish my soy candles. The burning wick separates and stops at the base. What do you think? first impressions?
