  1. Hi All 🌷

Lately I have been asked for samples of scents to be sent to potential clients (not wholesale).  I only offer one size jar which has worked beautifully for me because it allows me to offer a large variety of scent combos.  With that said,  I do not offer clamshells.  Clamshells would seem like the appropriate answer to the "can you send out samples" inquiry.  But... I'm wondering if there are other ways that are more cost effective to remedy the sample need.  I use soy and coconut wax and it doesn't set up firm enough to pop out of the container.  Obviously, I can't send FO's 😂

    Thanks,

  2. Hi All,

Doing some testing behind the scenes.  For the last 10 years have used a 50/50 blend par/soy.  1.25 oz per pound FO and zinc core wicks.  Zinc cores throw so well.  Having some issues as many are with my wax now that has soy blended in it.  All of a sudden not holding 1.25 FO load that I have always used. Heating, blending and pouring at all the temps I have always done with no prior problems.  Cut back to 1oz FO pp and still bleeding out.  Like...all of a sudden this out of the blue ? In addition, wax is cracking and tunneling.  I am using same FO's. Room temperature 74° and candles covered for slow cool down. Nothing has changed from my end ?

Getting disgusted because I have a large clientele and bunches of shows.  Have enough candles that were made to get me through the Fall in inventory that I made before this shenanigans... Thank God!!!

Anywhooooo... testing out a coconut / soy wax hybrid.  Papercores don't throw in this wax and zinc cores are too hot for this wax.  Loving both RRD and CD wicks. CD seems to burn a bit hotter and fast.  RRD slow burn, but the mushroom bugs me.  Wicked down and it drowns.

Picking your brains on your pro's and con's of RRD vs Heinz Coreless (CD)

    Sorry so long ?

  3. I have used her JSB container blend for at least 5 years.  Something is very "wonky" now with this 50/50 blend.  I have been making jar candles with this wax for a long time and all of a sudden it won't hold 1oz per pound of FO.  Heating to 175, adding FO at 160 and pouring.  7 days later, FO leeching out all around neck of jars.  She said it's something I must be doing wrong ?

I've been making candles for 20 years.  This wax is cracking and having sink holes too.  Not sure what's going on.

  4. Did something change with JSB 50/50 wax?  I've been doing this for over 10 years and all of a sudden I'm getting sink holes, excessive frosting and jump lines in my 10 oz Victorian jar candles.

Add FO at 155 and pour at 150 into pre-warmed jars.  Frustrated *shudder*

    Help :(

    Thanks, Corgi Caper
