  1. For those who've made lotion, does 1% Fragrance really give off a good scent? It would seem like the scent wouldn't be strong at all? I ask because I notice that alot of B&B bases have you use around 1-2% FO.

  2. @Belinda: That's too bad, I would think a lot of people would really enjoy it! If it shows up again soon on the website, I'll need to grab one then before it disappears! A few are gone that I was looking for like Strawberry Melon, I wish I could have tried it.

  3. Here you go.

Thankies! You're right, I do think I can get my hand there. The opening is way bigger than I had thought it would be. I went looking for long neck scoops on Amazon (Google just showed me a bunch of pictures with people in sweaters!) and think I'll pick one up as well as the spatula. The scoop I saw was about 8 inches so it seems that would be a good length?

  4. @Belinda: Totally jealous! I had Powdered Sugar on my list to try but it looks like it may have been discontinued? I don't see it anywhere!

I do like Just Scent, but their shipping is killer! :( I do agree with Belinda now that I think about it they do tend to be on the lighter side. I love their Vanilla Sugar Waffle Cone, Pineapple Slices, Peeps, and Cotton Candy Frosting (which I actually prefer over the Cotton Candy Super Strong) but the ones advertised as super strong that I've tried, didn't measure up really. I was super disappointed with Marshmallow Bomb especially!

  5. I'm not sure if you're interested but The Flaming Candle also has a Sugar Cookie Royale, MW dupe. I've smelled this one back to back with FB's SCR, and I think TFC version smells more like a straight buttery cookie though I love them both! It's like to my nose, the FB version has a hint of something extra. Maybe spice, maybe frosting... Can't quite put my finger on it.

  6. Stamps are nice. I rubber stamp muslin bags for one brand. People love the bags.

Stickers printed at home are nifty too.

Cool! I saw some stamped drawstring bags on etsy, they were the coolest! But thanks for responding everybody! I definitely want to get a stamp with my logo one day.

  7. The owner Brent has passed away, so the fate of TCS is not known. I always heard they had the best. I can't imagine a buttercream smelling like conversation heart candies ... whoa!

One thing about DayStar is she's great at food scents and vanillas for sure ... certainly she has a winner buttercream.

Is DayStar still up and running? I stop by the site but it doesn't look like it's been updated in a little while? I would love to make my first purchase there.

  8. You can fit your hand easily into the opening of the gallon jugs. I have a couple here and will take a pic for you when i get to the shop.

It's messy. No lying. And takes determination to get it alllll out. This stuff will not pump. It is like a shimmery thick cool whip.

Nice! I would love to see a picture if you have one!

  9. Souffle comes in like a gallon mayo jug. For the most part you can slam dump it out. But there's no getting around using a scoop and rubber spatula.

Oh cool so it's not too difficult to use with a scoop? I had been looking at only bases that came in pails because I'm scared about how to exactly get lotion/body butter bases out of jugs like the one EBC uses. If I can use a scoop (which was what I was going to do anyway), I can definitely pick up a spatula too and give it a whirl! I just don't want a base that requires a pump.

  10. If only I was w/in any kind of distance to a Lush, I would compare the actual RJ scent with the putridness I pick up out of the FB bottle ... and I'm thinking it isn't just limited to FB. Flaming Candle sent it to me as sample and while it wasn't as distinctively harsh as Fragrance Buddy's it was still unappealing to me ... can't say that when I put some into bath bombs that I was even close to a liking status with it ... probably a big shame on me!

:) There's one in our mall so we got to stop by after visiting Cold Stone *drool* I've tried about 5 Lush scents from FB and I'm not sure if it's just me, but they all kind of smell similar to one another, especially Rock Star and Creamy Candy! I can't tell the difference really, but even they were really harsh compared to how they smelled in the store. So unnatural smelling, the FO's that is. Maybe sometime I should try and pick up some bath bombs and share ....once I get over their high prices! They have good ingredients but the frugal side of me cringed at a $33 bottle of 19 fl. oz of hair conditioner

  11. @TallTayl Funny you mention that one because I was also looking at the fruit souffle base! It looks like one of the few lotion bases that comes into those bucket/jug things and their shipping so much better! I've spoken with a rep there and I can order a sample with USPS shipping (it has to be requested) but I'm not sure how to get the lotion out of the container? Any ideas?

@Candybee I've never heard of them before :) Besides EBC, I didn't know there were any others based on the West Coast (for B&B bases though CandleScience has a warehouse in Reno, NV which is two hours from here). I will definitely check out the link!

  12. I'm not sure if these are considered promotional items (If so, I do apologize!) but I came across something on Pinterest about custom rubber ink stamps and something along the lines of "thanks for purchasing" stickers for products. Do you guys think these are worth looking into?

  13. I always find Lebermuth's Fragrance Trend Reports interesting. Here is their report for spring/summer 2016:  http://www.lebermuth.com/about-us/trends-market-reports/  Scroll down to the report then click on it to view. It opens up as a PDF file.

My personal favorite is the "feminine wonder" at the bottom of the report. I want all of those fragrances!! LOL

I'm a fan of "Bachelorette" from how it's described :) Thanks for posting the link!

  14. It's jasmine, clary sage and Ylang ... at least by Lush. FB is notes of coconut, lily, lavender, and jasmine with a base of musk and woods ... and yet DayStar's was top notes of orange; middle notes: jasmine, spice; and bottom notes: sandalwood, amber, sugared musk.It is one of Lush's more popular bath bombs but I wonder just how off all the fragrances are in trying to match it lol!

Heehee! So true! I actually stopped by Lush today and the FB dupe seems a bit overpowering/harsh for the Sex Bomb scent. The bath bomb was quite soft and mellow :) Though I did try Rose Jam because I was too scared to buy a FO of it online to sample and it has a Velentine's smell to me!

  15. Has anyone tried this base before from Aquatech? I've bought 2 sample sets from Aquatech to try the Tropical Butter Cream and Natural Body Butter. I really like them both and would love to try the Polynesian cream but their shipping is $18 from Canada to California. Just wanted to know if it was worth trying before taking the plunge!
