I am using 10 oz frosted jars. I have been using the " 1 oz. per pound" . I will starting tomorrow try 1.5 oz per pound of wax. Can anyone suggest companies that they have had success for buying high quality FO from? For example, I am having trouble finding the "Bird of Paradise" smell similar to Circle E candles. The FO I bought that was labeled "Bird of Paradise" smells like something from a funeral parlor which is horrible. The closest I have come (which is putting it mildly) is Coral Delight. What temperature do you add your FO? I am using a Pesto Pot using the "Warm " setting. I also sit there (like a paranoid nut) stirring for 2 minutes to get the FO to bind with the wax. I am using the Honeywell J223 which the supplier posts that there is no need to add any additives to it. Can anyone given me a guide as to what is the best container wax to use?
For strong scents wick your wax at Bittercreek North, Kywaxsupply, they are alot of quality FOs out there, try the search feature here and it will bring up alot of info for you, also here is a link that will help you find the FO you look for but is hard to find--

I am wondering how those of you that have a site charge people for shipping. I love how easy it is to ship things in a $8.10 priority box but how do you figure up shipping for everything? Im totally in the dark about this! Anyhelp or advise about a web site would be great~TIA
Just do AlOT of researching, the are good ones, but they are ones you want to RUN from

Why are you participating in this thread?
Do you have anything to contribute that is ON TOPIC?
Yep, Shea butter is the best to use, IMO
-
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN! ROFL!!
Hey Deb, try to stay on topic, I know this may be hard for someone like yourself, but please try anyway, Once again we see who the REAL trouble maker is here.

You are so right, Meredith. (spendy is a good thing... HA HA )
Handcrafted soap is fabulous on the skin, and people that know the difference will pay more. It is just like baking a cake in my opinion. Exculsive, privately owned bakery versus chain store in quality. The "ingredients" so to speak add label appeal and perceived value, IMO.
I use OBN's Mango to soap.
I love this stuff, it soaps well and doesn't totally kill your lather.
Shea butter is okay, but there are so many grades, a lot of them substandard compared to Mango, for various reasons. It's all about preference and what your niche market is.
I might do another Mango co-op, I am dangerously low.
Once you use OBN's mango for your formulations, there is no substitute!
(seems a few are concerned about me editing my posts, do yourselves a favor and get a life)[/quote]
I don't seem to remember anyone here saying that, Why would you bring it up if not too only start trouble, Let's just stay on topic, it's not always about you, and maybe we know now who needs to get a life

Is there such a thing? I've only seen Amber, Blue, Purple, Clear, and Green. My whole theme is black and white and I want to go with black bottles. I've also thought about aluminum bottles as well with black pumps and sprayers. Just thought I'd ask.
try here, they have a couple of black bottles--

the aluminum bottles are very upscale

Wow. i'm going to keep this bookmarked. you never know when you might need a good excuse for something and every excuse you might need is right here.
LMAO, I was thinking the same

I like Black Cherry from Bittercreek North

Lonestar has the best dyes IMO
-
Alabaster has them
-
There is more to this than meets the eye. I have picked up from Alabaster when they were in Indiana and when I picked up in Louisville, I got the address and map from their website. They moved quite a while ago and it was posted on their site and the new addy was there with the map. The products page says that Alabama and Kentucky residents must have a sales tax license.
And I have dealt with Herb for a long time and he has never been anything other than polite and helpful on the phone and in person. He even volunteered to deliver an order to me personally.
For all of you that jumped on the bandwagon, you may want to form your own opinions about a company or at least do a little research. Don't write them off on the basis of one review.
I have my OWN opinion about this company and now I have my own opinion about you, Shame on you for attacking Nana, she is a trusted and loyal friend and if she says this is what happened, then, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED, end of story

I love 'em. I just wish I could get them at a place that didn't rape you for shipping like WSP does.
LOL, Shipping rape

It does take just alittle, but it should have cured overnight

Wildfire has some of the strongest and BEST scents, hands down
-
Pouring tins all weekend, have a couple of orders for them, and gonna pour some testers of some new scents of course, LOL
-
Try 2 - htps 41s, and go from there, but the only way to find the right wick/wicks is of course to TEST TEST TEST
-
This should help, try looking here---
-
Are they a PITA to wick? and what have been the good and bad points to these jars? Thanks for any replies
-
If all else fails, Just give them the finger and smile and say -- Too bad your candles suck so bad that you have to resort to lies, LMAO

Wendy does prebuys on the FOHO Board --- S-L-U-R-B-Y
-
Geez calm down.
LOL, I'm calm, I just don't understand why a person don't ask the supplier first
-
Why ask on a message board before you talked to them?
-
I understand how this can make a person mad as hell, but please give them a call on Monday, cause they are one of the best suppliers and their customer service is second to none, I am sure they will fix the problem

To stop the metal part from feeling loose-- Take it out and put a couple dabs of glue and replace the fitament, let dry, it works awesome
