WOW!  They all look great!  Are those all separate chunks in the loaf pan or an entire loaf?

One big loaf!  It weighed in at 32 ounces, lol, so I have since purchased tiny foil pans :)  I may try and cut this thing, I haven't decided yet, it looks too pretty!  But my goal is a chunky loaf, just need to go much much smaller in size to  make it reasonable.

GRAAAAAAAAAACIOUS NIKKI!!!!! GIRL!!! You are just running off with this and I LOVE IT!!!!:icon_highfive::bliss::yay: Lookin' good in the neighborhood!! You are so inspiring!! Love your combos!!  I LOVE that pistachio color,,,,I love ALL your colors !!! :) I have to ask...do you use the liquid colors? If you do...how many drops of green did you use for the Pistachio Pudding Cake? I keep coming back to look at that chunk! :)

I use liquid dye, but that was probably the only thing in this hobby that I put a limit on.... so I got just the basic colors; red, blue, yellow and brown.  I just mix tiny bits of colors together on a plastic spoon and dip something in it (like a the end of another spoon) to take and add to the wax that way until I get the color I want.  The kiwi green was tiny bits taken from one blue drop (Aztec) and 2 yellow drops (Candle Science) mixed together.  Not very scientific, I know, haha!!

  3. A little more time on my hands so I messed around with size of chunk pieces before the overpour.  I also did some where the scents are separate and some where I took three frag. oils, blended, divided and added color to half...I used 50/50 4625 and 4627 for most except the pistachio (green) chunk pieces are 6006.

Still figuring out size that I like, working on cutting straight haha and just making nicer looking chunks.  Learning from all of you every day and am so thankful.  Enjoy!

What are you looking for in terms of size?

Zip top, open top, Gusseted sides, lip and tape (I despise this style-ha!)? Other?

What will you be packaging in them?

How many are you willing to buy and store?

    That will help.

Ok, I finally know what I am after...

Zip top in a 5x6 or 5x5 size.  I think a chunk would it nicely into this size.  Now, I just need help with finding them.  Thank you!!

  5. Bergamot w/Rosemary and Mint overpour, Banana w/Apple Butter Caramel overpour, Spiced Cranberry w/Raisin Bread & Butter overpour, Bergamot, Lemon Peel w/ Pink Sugar overpour and lastly, Banana, Chocolate, Wild Cherry w/Pralines and Cream overpour.  Three varieties were made with a silicone ice cube mold (nice and neat), the others were my attempt at doing it the regular way.  I'd love opinions on the chunks made with molds.  Is it ok, or just doesn't have the "it" factor.

    Thanks!

  6. A friend is asking me about making pure soy wax melts for her, but I am totally out of my element.  I had tried pure soy once before and can not for the life of me remember which one.  I know it arrived in little pieces and was great that way, but finished with an almost chalky consistency.  My question is, is there a soy wax that finishes with a creamy consistency, not chalky?  (I can add a pillar wax to it to harden it up.)

    Thanks!

  7. I had a little time today so I played.  I used 6006 wax.  First attempt was banana cherry cheesecake with chocolate overpour.  Then I cheated a bit and used a mold for the others, which are basically everything I have with a pink sugar overpour (friend is addicted to ps).  The one shown is fluffy candy pink sugar.

I'm not crazy about 6006 now that I have been using a pure paraffin mix and it did not cut any easier.  I used a hot knife at first and then just a cutter and a super fast cut.  Still not happy with cutting chunks, but I will keep trying!  Here are some pics...

  8. I am discouraged at the amount of oils that I am having this problem with, so I ran some tests this weekend.  I varied my temperature (higher and lower), warmed the containers, the oils and still had the solubility issues.  Since I am using 4625/4627 I tested each of those alone and still had same issue.  I ordered a slab of 6006, the wax I started out with a year ago.  I never had this issue with 6006 so I am going to try the oils that are giving me fits with this and see how it goes.  On a side note, I have a new macro lens for my camera coming this week so I'll be able to share things a bit better.  Thanks for listening :)

  9. I've been waiting on my husband to convert my Presto pot, but ended up buying a smaller 'ready to go' one in the meantime.  I don't know how I lived without this.

I am almost ready to attempt those beautiful multi-color, scented Chunks.  But, I couldn't wait and ended up making some Chunk Cakes yesterday.  Scents;  Pumpkin Pecan Waffle w/Apple Cinnamon overpour, Birthday Cake w/Fresh Strawberry overpour, Sugar Cookie Royale w/Cotton Candy overpour (made this in a rose shape, wasn't crazy about that), Sugar Cookie w/Spicy Apples and Peaches overpour, Georgia Peach w/Ginger Ale overpour, Strawberry w/Ginger Ale overpour.
