  1. Finally started back into soaping and used a recipe on here for just olive oil and castor.

Took about a week to firm up and lathers great. I didnt use fragrance.

The only question I have is, I know if soap is laying in water very long it will soften. Mine seems to melt. Is this just the nature of olive and castor soap?

  2. Just reading my e-mail that "Create the Dream" sent me, about Yankmes` new brochure. And a link for the company that provides the sample scent to go in your brochure (I think, didnt read it all, just assumed, because I had a light bulb moment..lol) .What about using make up remover pads, cut up,in to squares, stapled or glued, with your business card folded over it. Or maybe a tranparent cellophane (with your business name on the front side).

Just finding a pad that is thin enough.

What do you think...any ideas? Antbody seen anything like that out there?

  3. There might be ( is?) a eplush going on in Co-ops section. What scent would be good to dip these bears in for valentines day? Ive never tried Pink Sugar, would this be a good one ( strong scent)? Any others that you`ve tried?

  4. Do any of you have any tips on lifting clear labels without getting your fingerprints all over the underside of it??? Im thinking maybe sliding a knife under and lifting, then eyeballing and TRYING to get it centered. What a pain!!!!

  5. I use this too.But I have trouble with my jars staying upright on the shelfs.

I thought about covering cardboard with fabric to fit. When I brought one it cost around 50.00. The wheels ..seem like round 20.00.Too expensive.

I would suggest this shelving unit too 0001764199497_L4.jpgbut with the wire shelves you may need to add some plywood on the shelves for some candles, they don't sit real well on the wire alone.
  6. There is a lady in town that has wanted my candles in her store for about a year. Well, I have them in two stores in my town already so I didnt want to add another. They are all too close to each other.

One of the stores closed about two months ago,so I ask this lady if she wanted them. She said yes,so I take every thing down there. It hasnt been 3 weeks, she closed. My MIL told me. Shes a client of hers. Wheres my containers that the votives were in?????Wheres my shelf??????Im going to have to hunt her down ( dont know where she lives) to get my stuff.

I think she knew she was closing and just wanted the wholesale price. Her family buys from me all the time. Even though I made 300.00 from the votives and jars, it just pisses me off . She didnt even call me. Our familys know each other. My MIL goes to church with her and whole family. Oh, heck Im depressed just talking about it...............

  7. Nope, the votives were in a 6X12 white thin card board box with a lid the same size.I just used them, (separated the different scents with each box) ,put them in a big plastic storage container that held 16 of the votive boxes. It was a lot easier in the white boxes that they didnt get banged around alot. Now cant find any.Guess I have to go to a packaging manufactor???? You have to pay for a set up fee I think.

  8. um..... I think it may be where you take cooled wax , whip it with a whisk til it looks like frosting.Then...you have to hurry at this point before the wax hardens, shoop it up with a knife, spatual (?) and pat the sides and top of your candle.

Did a search, couldnt find anything on it. Maybe some of the older ppls know.
