How does everyone go about cutting up their slabs of wax? 

hot knife?  scoring?  put in a bag and slap it on the concrete?

I got a sample of the 3022 wax from clarus and it is in slab form.  the last wax i bought(c3) was in flake form & much easier to measure.

THE SALE IS BEING POSTPONED. I'm really sorry folks but until my host gets their stuff together I'm postponing the sale. This is an issue beyond my control. I would get more opinions from other places.  She also may only know about the products she sells and not about others.  The wax she is pushing probably yields some profit vs. the one you want yielding smaller profit.  If they didnt make money on it, I doubt they would sell it. 

You can still purchase from her if it saves you money, just dont trust anything she says if you already get that feeling.

Jcandleattic - any difference in the red & white versions?

Good info on the washing the mold.  Also Candybee, was it you that ordered a custom wood box for your ED mold?  If so, how is it holding up?

How is everything selling for you in your shop?  Do you only sell in a store front, or do you sell online too?

Thanks everyone.  I will start checking the shipping from all mentioned.  Although I think I might be getting ready to order the silicone red mold from ED after reading lots of good stuff about it on here.  So maybe It would be cheaper to get some supplies while ordering the mold.

I have a local shop that sells a good majority of what I see in alot of soap & lip balm recipes.  What I am looking for otherwise at least so far is Shae butter & cocoa butter.  Is there some suppliers everyone recommends for inexpensive pricing for these?  Are these items I could find in my local grocery store?  I assume that these items are sometimes sold with fragrance already in them and I dont want that. 

I prefer to buy locally as to save on shipping, but that may not be feasible

This makes me feel better about being a customer of theirs.  I hope that the change to come will alleviate the concerns we all have about their shipping.  

The word has to have made it to the management by now.  If they were interested in the potential customers & current customers here, they would check the boards every once in a while.  There would be no point in the cust. service people holding this info back especially if multiple people have already contacted them about the same thing.  The problem it seems is a lack of concern.

To give an example, Tennessee Candle Supply reads these boards.  They saw several people discussing FOs, specifically wanting them to carry Tangerine Dreams & Pomegranate.  Guess what?  They listened and responded extremely fast.  Those 2 cents are due in their warehouse this Friday.  CS could do this also, they just choose not to.  Which means our business is not important enough to them.  As for TCS, I am impressed and that is exactly why I placed an order with them.

how do you think that wax will hold up to the summer months if outside at a show/festival?

try searching "elevance",  this brings up mostly c3.  there are a few c1 topics though.

I dont want to buy from an un reputable supplier, just didnt know if there was a local to Dallas shop that sold it or if it was something that had to be ordered online.  I just hate paying shipping prices that end up being at least half of the products price.

do candles need to cure longer that 6 hours if they are only wick & wax?  Or do they need a minimum of a week cure like candles with fragrance/color/additives do?

Did you only let it cure for a few hours after pouring before lighting the wick?

either way will get you close.  Just make sure if you calculate one candle either way, you calculate all of your recipe's the same way.  Moonshines version will give you the % by volume.  OldGlory & myself gave you the % fo to wax.

i think it is 12.9% 

1oz (fo)/ 16oz (wax) = 6.25%   -the normal 1 oz per pound of wax

.9oz (fo)/ 7oz (wax) = 12.86%  -your recipe

is it available at local / national chains or do I have to order it online?

I saw this in a lip balm recipe on here and have never seen this stuff.  where do you buy it?
