Try Scentmemory.com

I believe I read somewhere that FB's Patchouli Passion smells like PFO's. Maybe someone can weigh in on this? They also have a few other dupes of Moonworks that might match those PFO has. Sea Witch and Lavender Sage, I think.

Did you ever try the Summer Fling from Soapgoods.com? They also have Energy. https://www.soapgoods.com/energy-p-459.html Haven't tried it though.

It's a beautiful setup! Those embellishment, feet, etc. that you put on the boxes just really adds a lot, IMO. Love it!

Soap Base: Olive 50% , Coconut 25%, Palm 25% - 120*F
Lye solution 35%, Lye Temp 100
100 grams of oil used for initial single bar soap tests.
Method: Pulse stick blender in 10 burst series. evaluate if more needed. Typically only need 20 bursts for unscented soap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acceleration: None. Slow and easy. Would consider water discount with no problems. 20 stick blender pulses and it still poured smoothly and leveled the top.
Discoloration: slight ivory
Fragrance Morphing: None noted
Fragrance Fade: None Noted
Notes: this soaped VERY easily.
Potential blending ideas: Anything with wood notes, other fruit.
Did the scent stick around well, Talltayl?
Wow, same problem here but I HAD found what to me was the perfect amber, but now it is gone. It was Amber Glow from Soapalooza (formerly Southern Soapers). It was ideal. Vanilla, musk, sandalwood and maybe patchouli all in one. Somehow I missed it being discontinued and was devastated that it is gone.
I WISH I could find out if this was an exclusive to them or if it is distributed somewhere.
I will have to hoard the remaining ounce for my personal use.
If you have an ounce, then you could get it duped by someone. Contact Bescented, or Julie Boesen of Scentsational Soaping, or Valerie Clavin of Valeries Soaping Supplies on facebook.
I'm just starting down this treacherous path so I'm just drinking my FO, not mainlining it. If you had to pick one FO supplier which would it be based on variety of scents and quality of fragrances? I've ordered from CS and Flaming Candle so far. Just wondering if there's maybe a quality supplier out there that isn't one of the top 5 on Google.
Your path becomes even more treacherous when you Drink the FO. Might want to rethink that one.
I think Fillmore is right if my memory serves me. Someday I'll get around to actually pouring a candle with it, but OOB it smelled good and strong. Since you are looking around, I'll warn you that WSP's version does NOT smell at all like BBW, BUT it is absolutely wonderful, and when you smell it, it seems to say, "Come here and let me kiss you with the kisses of my mouth!" At least that's what I heard...... So, you definitely need both versions (if you want any kisses). Just don't expect authentic Mahogany Teakwood from WSP.
Hi TT, not sure if you're aware, but Soapgoods.com has several dupes of various Brambleberry FO, including Summer Fling. The price per pound is $36, or $33.5 for 10 lbs. Here's the link:
Leather from Texas Candle Supply and Lone Star are amazing. Sorry can't help you with BOP.
Do they smell quite similar to each other, or fairly different (different but good)
Do you fill the pump tube with lotion prior to inserting it into the bottle?
That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.
Does the bottle indicate where the fill line is? you would fill to the fill line (if it doesn't indicate on the bottle, maybe the place of purchase can help) The fill line just be a bit below the neck so you can add a pump if need be. 8 fl oz of lotion will not necessarily (and most likely not) weigh 8 oz. Fl oz is volume where as oz is weight.
Ok, thanks! I didn't know there was a fill line. So, even though I don't know where that line is, I'll just fill it as full as I can and still be able to add a pump.
Hi guys, this is probably a stupid question, but if I have these 8 oz pet bottles and I want to fill them with lotion, and put 8 fl oz on the label, do I have to fill them to the very top? If so, what about if I need to put a pump in it...that would then displace some of the lotion (as much as a tablespoon, probably) and then it wouldn't really be 8 oz, anymore, would it? So, then if I use a pump, I'd have to label it as 7.5 fl oz, or what? I notice all the commercial lotion I see goes by fl oz versus just oz.
Thanks for any light y'all can shine on this for me!
Thanks for the heads up, Trappeur!
Thanks for this heads up, Trappeur! When I saw it, I went on over to Zazzle and found something that would work for a label. My poor label has been languishing in the recesses of my mind for quite some time now, and thanks to you and this sale, it has now achieved physicality. Yay!! Seeing that you said it was for Tuesday only, I worked for hours and got a small order in just before midnight. But then, lo and behold, the sale continued! So, for the next few days I neither ate nor slept while working away at getting all the scents I wanted done up in the fonts I wanted, and not just for soap but for candles too. Okay, I did eat and sleep, but I spent a lot of time on Zazzle!! Went to bed very late a couple nights. I placed several orders (they only let you have 50 different things in your cart at one time) and put in my final order close to the final cutoff of midnight last night. A big thank you!! I can't wait for them to arrive!
I use NG's Orange Clove and ICS or Cajun's Spiced Oranges. I don't know if they're the best out there but they're pretty good to my nose.
I'm curious which of these 3 you most recommend? Or are they all equally good to you?
-
I'd suggest using either the OT oil or the FB one, both of which Trapp says smell accurate (they just don't throw in her wax), and send it to a duper. Then, hopefully their version actually would throw.
I did purchase this and mixed it with WSP Vanilla Bean Noel. Normally I wouldn't mix such an expensive FO but when you have 2 WSP FO's together it's usually dynamite! I did 80% VBN and 20% Bergamot Amber and it's very nice--my customer chose that % as she wanted something less spring and more fall. This is really nice and VERY different from anything I've smelled; it's a slight citrus warm vanilla combo.
That's great! So glad you were able to find something that works. So, I'm curious, is your blend similar to the scent your customer was searching for?
If you can bear the cost, Perfect Man. It's one I haven't seen in the above recommendations.
This is a great masculine scent and one of the very very few I will pay that much for a lb. (I have only bought it twice and use it very sparingly because I'm so cheap!! HAHA)
By the way, last year Cierra Candles started carrying a Perfect Man FO, and it costs about half what NG's does. I don't know how similar it is, but I'm assuming they were duping it. You miight give it a try.
WSP has a Bergamot Amber. It smells nice. You could try adding some vanilla to it. I might try it myself.
I have the NDA Orange Ginger, but I have never smelled BBW's. I will say that NDA's does NOT fit the description of "quintessential fall scent", so you may want to look elsewhere.
Hi guys, can you tell me what to do for labeling when my lard says "BHT and Citric acid added to improve stability?" Do I need to add BHT and Citric acid to the ingredient list? If so, how should I do so? Should it be like: "Olive oil, lard (contains BHT and citric acid for stability), coconut oil, etc, etc.?" Or does that need to be tweaked a bit? I'm really hoping I don't have to include that into, but I probably do. I checked out a bunch of lard soaps on Etsy and couldn't find a single one that included the BHT and citric acid in their ingredients list, which means either they are all rendering their own lard, or not listing it.
Thanks!
