  1. I was about to purchase some of Peaks pre-blended pillar wax, and I saw they also had votive wax. I was wondering if the candles usually came out ok using the pillar wax for votives?
  2. Thanks so much, thats more candles then I expected If one were to try making hurricane shells with pictures embedded inside...would that be a good mold choice or something bigger? (very new but very ambitious :rolleyes2 )
  3. I have searched in the forums and can't find an answer so hopefully someone can help me out. Approximately how many candles would one get out of a 10lb block of wax if you were to make a 3" x 4.5" round candle (like from this mold) http://www.peakcandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PCMS&Product_Code=ALM-RND345CONCAVE&Category_Code=ALM? I'm having trouble figuring out how much wax to order so I'm hoping one of you all might have some idea of a way to figure it out Thanks
  4. I'm about to embark on my first attempt at candle making, and I wanted to make them scented. I'm a little confused about the melting point of the wax though. The two waxes I was looking at were Candlewics Container Blend Wax [CBL-129] and AstorLite Blended Candle Wax [J-50]. The melting points of these are 124F and 128F respectively. Is this normal/acceptable or is there a higher temp I should be looking for? Thanks!
