  1. I can't vouce for clean cotton being used in anything but scent beads, but MAN it is strong!
  2. Oh, that's something I didn't think about... I used the finer in both bath bombs and some more melts last night, and I definitely like it. Although I've got some small melts using the coarse, and I find I like to use those when I'm looking for a quick scrub/softener on my hands - I'll just grab one of the small ones, stick my hands under some warm water real quick, and scrub away
  3. Thanks, Spellkast! I've never worked with citrus before, so I wasn't sure what I was dealing with here!
  4. Ok, I've got 2 orders of citric acid from two different suppliers. First, one is "large" crystals, similar to salt or sugar. The other is much finer, similar to garlic salt (sorry that's the only thing that comes to mind!) Is there a normal or preferred type? Does it make a difference? I made bath melts with the coarser variety, I loved them, but could definitely still "see" the crystals. Second question regarding citric acid. The finer variety has some lumps in it. My brain tells me that, like brown sugar, this is from moisture - but I'm not sure about that. I can't break them by hand, I figured I would sift out the lumps so I could try to solve the problem without killing everything else... but does anyone know of a good method? Maybe beat on 'em with a hammer? TIA - Jen
  5. I match scents to moods. It's fun My favorite (when I'm in a playful, light-hearted mood) is just plain old Light Musk from Scentsations in Utah. In my last job, I worked with lots of guys (ran about 95% men at a construction site, it was some fun times!) and I was shocked the number of guys that would compliment me. They also sent me some Himalaya, which is a little heavier than scents I normally wear, but it's a really good scent when I go to the bar. When I'm feeling particularly "sexy" I wear Truth Calvin Klein. When I'm feeling professional, it's Inner Realm.
  6. Anyone have an idea where to find a body-safe fragrance oil for Raspberry Glace (VS)? My brother's new wife evidently likes this scent, and I mentioned I would go on a hunt for it. I've checked the fragrance finder and of course I see lots of other raspberries, but no VS. However, I do know now that this particular Raspberry has evidently been discontinued from VS (which doesn't help me!) I have no idea what it smells like, so I'm not even sure what a comparable dupe would be. Any suggestions? I've seen several sun-ripened raspberry (BBW) types, which I might fall back on, but if there's a good VS dupe out there, I'm interested. TIA for any help you may be able to give. Jen
  7. Hi, all, first post here, although I've been studying a lot from here, and have some great advice... Not to bump a somewhat old thread, but a quick question regarding this company - I just realized they're only about an hour and a half away from me, so I sent an email asking if it was ok to pick orders up in person, to forego shipping costs (waiting for a reply on that.) For those that have ordered, are their items really good? I'm looking at some of the oils/butters and some other things for some of the body butter, etc., recipes I've seen here, and since I'm in the very beginning stages of dabbling (heehee) I'm not sure yet what's considered good and not-so-good, as far as quality. I've got a couple orders on their way from a couple places, but before I get really involved in this, is it worth my time? It's hard to control some of my excitement about these things, and being an impulse buyer, I don't want to get too caught up until I'm in over my head! Thanks in advance Jen
