Put it this way...My "first" I was scared to death! Now it is soo much fun! I too was just a candles person..but for years I wanted to do B&B and soap..soo I got my way..even though it took me forever!!!

My first batch came out VERY ugly! LOL Hot pink and yellowish..it is still soft! HA!!!

I am not sure I am any help..I just made two batches with palm and OO...and they turned out great! nice and easy no fast trace..but..i will tell ya I noticed when I put a little in a dish to do another color..it did thicken fast...maybe it has to do with batch size?

maybe smaller batchs go way faster using palm?

The full batchs went fine..But now i will pay attention when i get more palm to work with...soap making does get mind boggling! ..but soooo much fun!

ok...now how the heck do u get tallow??Do u have to make it?? ewwwwww...I love my lard bars that i have made..But I never see tallow anywhere...

What would U use and Why?

I want to work On one type of bar and get it to where I want it! Now..There are two base oils That I can use..Which one do u or would U use and why? I am having a tuff time deciding!

Rice Bran oil or Palm oil???

I think when I was melting M&P I was doing to hot and I did not cover my pot! SOOOO I guess..I made hard bars!! LOL!! I am gonna try again soon! I would love to make some M&P for scents that discolor in cp..
