I know eo's have been the topic of converstaion before..and I am planning to do a batch tonight with Peppermint eo... I know it is a stong on so I am thinking .5 per pound of oils... BUT>>> Is there anything else I should know about soaping this? is it a heater? Thanks I just don't wanna screw up this batch I only have 4oz... Tara

LOL!! I love the looks of soy! ANd I can smell the soy when I light it and when I blow it out...I have been a candlemaker for over 10years..and I am not about to quit now..I just don't like what I see as far as burning..we have been testing soy for over 6 months and have yet to make a batch of strait soy that I like...I am using ezsoy..I don't mind frosting ect..I just don't like the way it burns.. that is just me..I know there is alot of soy lovers out there..And we will keep working and testing it... but i was just fustrated with MY results... Thanks for the pick up!

I hate soy!!!!!!!! Holy smokes!! U can't get it to burn!! It is horrable!! I feel like the only reson it does not smoke is because it does not burn right..or like parifin... para soy is different..But I mean 100% soy is yucky@!!!!!!!! we have tried every wic...rrd's,htp's ,Cd's,lx's ANd the stuff just bites... Is there a new level of acceptance when it comes to soy? what is acceptiable in parafin is not acceptibale in soy! I love my zink wicks..and my parafin... Do U guys find there is a lower standard of burning when it comes to soy? Wicks that are burnt out? and have big embers on the ends..so the flame looks like crap? That has happend with Every wic we have used!! and If You double wic it..Holy cow talk about wild stuff...and discoloring the wax... I like my candles to have a flame that glows and is bright... What is the point of soy...when U add fo it makes it not natural..anyway.... sorry Just venting!!! I hate soy...I think i will always hate soy...

HA! Between using Mustard when I should not have... And Not fully understanding whatsuper fatting is..holy smokes.... I understand water discounting! And I love that! hehehehe Lets see if I have this right...when U go into the sooz calc....There is a part for a Lye discount it is auto for 5% right... U can ajust anyway u want... IS that what super fatting is? What is adding like say coco butter at trace ? that is super fatting too??? if a recipe calls for a 6% lye dicount and U only do 5% what would happen to the soap? IS it harsher? Thanks sooo Much!

Bunny! Thanks for the warning about Mustard..I guess...Well..Umm I feel silly!! LOL!!! I did not get any burn from puttting the mustard in! I must have gotten lucky..But I will find out more when I shower with it..Right now I am using as a hand saop in the kitchen! works Great! K..There is noo Mustard smell..I did not use much powder... All U can smell is Lemon!!! Thanks all for the tips and pointers!!!!!! Your all so helpful!!! Hugs Tara

A friend asked me if I could Make lye soap...I said I do make lye soap..she said I mean the lye soap that they made in the old days for more cleaning and laundry stains ect...HArsher then Our types of soap...I guess there is a comercial bar that is made that U can buy in the laundry section? Our store does not carry it.. Is That type of soap Just Lard??? TIA!!! Tara

Thank U!!! The rebatch was a pain!! HA!!! But U should have seen it before! it wass...just nasty!!!! the Castiles are soo easy...most have smooth tops...there was a few spots where the suran must have touched the top that I did not like the top.... But overall I was happy with them...
