  1. Great tips... Thank you... Are the digital scales reasonable and do I have to go to a specialty store to purchase one?
  2. Oh my ladies you have just made my day. I appreciate all your help. Im really excited about making my first body butter and other products... Wish me luck and thanks again for all your help. I ready to get started now... Except for the fact that now Im confused about all the measurings....
  3. Hello Everyone, I've been on the board for a little, but havent had the chance to make anything. But Im ready in 08. I want to start off making body butters, lotions and soaps. Now I need your help. I need a few "simple" recipes to start off. Anyone have any suggestions to get me started? I would really appreciate your help. I want to start getting ready for mothers day. One other question, can someone tell what is the difference between body buffer and body butters? Thank you again for your help
  4. Thanks Bravo... That was a great help....
  5. Oh my... So many fun ideas... I want to do them all, but unfortunately I probably will not have enough time too... We are also doing facials, pedicures and manicures. So I wanted to get in at least two easy projects they could do. Question, can I just use a lotion or body wash base and just add color and fragrance or do I need to put a preservative in there??? Im clueless when it comes to mixing stuff together... I was going to have them make easy bath salts with epson salt, color and fragrance in put in pretty jars, is that good? I would love to do the m&p soap but we'll be in a hotel room, so all they have is a microwave.... Soap Diva are there any recipes for scented bubble bath, body wash, and bath jelly? One more question, I was reading this book and it has a recipe for liquid shampoo & shower gel base it has 3/4 cup of distilled water, 1/4 cup shampoo concentrate, 1/2 teaspoon table salt. then you add 2tbls. of aloe vera gel, fragrance & color. have you heard of such a recipe, with distilled water & salt??? Sorry for all the questions, Im learning... I'll be just as good as you guys shortly... Thank you everyone for all your help, believe I appreciate it! Without you guys Ill be completely lost.
  6. Thanks Kelly & Candlebean, I found the glitter gel, it was under Darwin also can you buy cosmetic glitter from walmart or Michaels craft store? Kelly, what type of base would I use for the lip balm. Do I have to melt anything with that? Thanks again for your help
  7. Hello Everyone, Happy Holidays to everyone. I need a little help, Im giving a spa party for 12 little girls (between the ages of 11-13). I need something simple I can have them do as an activity. I was thinking either making some bath salts, lip balm or lotion... What do you think? Does anyone have a simple recipe? Thank You.
  8. Thanks Ladies for your help.
  9. Please help, still learning. But Im starting to understand more about making bath & body products. Question, I was reading Making Candles and Soaps for dummies and the term photosensitizing comes up with certain EO's. Can you tell what that means? Also when making body butter, is there certain butters that makes it soft? Thanks a bunch for your help.

  11. Hello Everyone, I have seen some nice products throughout the board and I'm really impressed with everyone's work. I hope I can get as good as everyone else. My problem is, I dont know where to start. I want to start off with making M & P soaps , bath melts, bath fizzes and body butter. Is there a basic technique I can start off following? It would be nice to know how others started off. Any information is much appreciated. Thank You
