  1. Sorry, it's ecosoya CB135 and an 8 oz square Mason (3 1/4" at the widest).
  2. Hi everyone! This Amish Harvest has been driving me crazy...these pictures have an LX22 and it seems to be catching up a little more on each burn but would this much hang up be acceptable to you at this point? I've been burning in 3-4 hour sessions and it has yet to reach a full MP (now on the 7th burn). I burned one with an LX24 and it looked great until the bottom part of the jar. The flame got very large and the glass was too hot. Also tested with Peaks C65 and C70 with similar results. Seems like I need a wick option in between... Emily
  3. Well, an update for anyone else who is wondering....I must have had candle nose the first time around because this last batch is throwing great
  4. Hi everyone! Has anyone found that USA inhibits scent throw? From what I have been reading, it "may help with scent throw" but I tried it out and didn't think the HT was nearly as good as my candles without it. I have a few more that are curing right now and I don't think the cold throw is nearly as strong. I would like to make it work because I love the way it makes the candles look. Has anyone else encountered this? I am using 1/2 tablespoon per pound with 7% FO (same percentage as my candles without it) in Ecosoya CB135. Emily
  5. Well, I've been able to get a decent hot throw in the bathroom and bedroom so far. I'm hoping it's a wicking problem. I've been testing Peaks CO wicks and LX and this seems to need something in between sizes. What do you guys do when that happens? I would scrap this FO completely and move on but now I'm running into the same wicking issue with a few other scents. So frustrating!!
  6. Thanks ubure! I will have to put those on my list to try.
  7. Not real good! So far the best one is at about 6% FO. It does have hot throw but not as strong as I would like. I started switching out wicks and was able to get a better throw when I downsized the wick a little bit. I'm using cotton core now but I think I'll try a few different kinds before I completely give up on this scent. I made a Very Vanilla on 10/7 that I'm going to go test burn right now. Not sure if it's had long enough to cure but I can't wait any longer! Really wish I could get the Peaks to work though - it's not strong but I love the scent.
  8. I am going to go light my first one up again to see if the cure time made a difference. However, I think I added the FO at too low of a temp on that one anyways so wouldn't be surprised if there was still no throw. I'm waiting for Very Vanilla and Warm Vanilla Sugar from Candlescience to come in the mail - let me know how you like the Lonestar one!
  9. Hi everyone, Has anyone blended the ecosoya PB and CB for tarts? Any advice on a good mixture? I just made my first batch of tarts with straight PB and there is very little hot throw. I've read a lot about mixing the pillar and container on this forum but haven't seen anything with all ecosoya brand (the only wax I have on hand). Thanks, Emily
  10. Hi! That looks like frosting to me. I've never seen the frosting actually go away once its started. Lately I have been covering my candles with a big piece of tupperware to cool and have had no frosting! I know it's not realistic when you are pouring a ton of candles at once but it works great if you only have a couple. Emily
  11. Hi everyone! I have been testing for weeks now and cannot figure out why I can't get a good hot scent throw in my Peaks French Vanilla. Here is what I am using: Jar: 8 oz Mason Wax: Ecosoya CB135 Wick: Cotton Core C70 / 75 I have tried all sorts of temperature combination and the best so far is heating the wax to 185, adding the scent at 180 and pouring at 105. For this candle I used an 8% FO load. (I've tested with anywhere from 6% to 12% with similar results) I started with a C70 wick and got NO scent so re-wicked it with a C75. The scent throw was much better but now I have a huge flame, big burn pool and the jar gets a little hotter than I would like. I am getting awesome scent throw with Amish Harvest and Pink Sugar and I thought French Vanilla was one of those stronger scents so I am puzzled! Could I just need to move away from a cotton core wick? Any ideas? Thanks! Emily
