  1. Agreed. This is really a fabulous site and all the old posts have been so helpful!
  2. Hi y'all! I've been doing tests here in St. Lou with Bird of Paradise and every SINGLE person I have sniff it *loves* it, but gives me the 'huh?' weird face when it comes to the name. I'm using CS's FO and I love it. Do you have any suggestions for a name for this besides Bird of Paradise so I don't get so many strange looks?
  3. I've been perusing the many posts about PP versus polyethylene etc when it comes to shrink wrap for votives, tarts and pillars so I'm pretty sure I understand to use polypro. However, I'm also reading on supplier sites that they use PVC? When I try to Google it for more info I'm not getting anything. Is PVC shrink wrap good, or bad? Does it leech away the scent too? I was going to get some from ULine or All White Candles but they both offer PVC. Help!
  4. If you are using a method other than spreadsheets to track your accounting, would you mind posting what you use? And if you use QuickBooks, could you share what version? Thanks! :highfive:
  5. Anyone else on pillar sales? I'm torn between offering them and not.
  6. I'm resurrecting this old thread because I'm knee-deep in new expenses and have decided I need some accounting software. I've read a lot of Etsy sellers use this. Anyone tried it lately?
  7. I nearly passed out cold this afternoon when I saw an e-mail from BCN letting me know they'd shipped my order - that I placed last night! Wow. That's a first.
  8. I'm prepping my inventory for the summer/fall craft fairs and I was wondering if I could get some advice from veterans. 1. What is your best selling pillar size? I was considering 3x6 or 3x4.5". Does either sell well? 2. I've seen conflicting advice on container sizes? I'm pouring Status and Elevation jars. What's your best-selling size (regardless of the type of jar you use)? 8oz, 12oz, 16oz, or 21+? Or do people just gravitate to the cheapest one? Thanks! Michelle
  9. My results with Victory were pretty much immediate. Love the wax!
  10. My last order was about 18 months ago from BCN but they stopped carrying it. I was thinking about picking it up from DPS Morris.
  11. Is there a code for the sale? There's nothing noted on the site.
  12. I've used Victory Blend with CD wicks. The CT and HT is fabulous and glass adhesion is excellent (except for a tiny problem with the top pulling away). I've used up to 10% FO and it's probably too much - I could probably cut back. it's really worth the cost.
  13. Although it's hard to find, I really love 6098 Victory blend. The weird thing is I'm having trouble with the top half-inch of the candle pulling away from the glass - the rest of it has perfect adhesion. It takes about 3 days for the pull-away to show up. I'm working and pouring it at 185F, with glass at around 225F. Does anyone recognize this problem? Either with 6098 or other container blends?
