Would you suggest the La Bomb colors then? Or is there something else I'm not seeing? I was looking at FD&C powders from FNWL and the pigments and oxides from WSP. Any suggestions?

Was wondering on bubble bars - that are anhydrous - if I add a water-based colorant (like Celestial Colors) to it, will that start the fizzing process? And will it require a preservative because I've added water to the mix?

I've looked at LaBomb colors but they are SO expensive. I guess those or micas/pigments might be the better way to go. Any advice pretty please?

Ugh. Gag. I'm still trying to work up the nerve to make lotion from the ingredients I bought (and great Swifty recipe) but I most *certainly* bought preservative. That's nasty.

I'm sitting here kneading my first batch of Silky Suds with Peak's Paris Twilight into a beautiful pink color... all the while knowing my batch will brown tomorrow because no one will help! Anybody out there use a vanilla stabilizer in their bath/body? I was looking at the one at WSP for lotion. NG's failed my citric acid/baking soda test tonight... instant bubbles. Unless it doesn't start the reaction if you don't use too much...? Anyone?

Oh, I'm not worried about my own. I have a few favorites I'm going to try out. I was just curious what everyone else likes! I can't do patch. It's icky to me. I'm trying out a few fruitier scents first.

Ooh, I've got this one! Bubble bars are used to create big wonderful bubbles in your bath - no real cleaning properties, just bathtime fun! You crumble a portion of the bar under your running water. Think of it as a dry bubble bath.

Just getting into B/B and I'm very excited to start making bubble bars. What are your favorite scents in B/B? So far I'm super-excited to try Oakmoss and Amber (CS).

Been doing much research on making sure my bubble bars and bath salts don't turn that lovely shade of brown, as many of my favorite scents are vanillin-heavy. Most posts on the board have a lot of questions but not a lot of answers. Has anyone successfully used a vanilla stabilizer for bubble bars? Bath salts? If so, can you recommend what works for you? I've read the descriptions of WSP, NG, BB etc and they all state they are for soaps or hydrous products. Obviously the bubble bars and salts are anhydrous. Thanks so much!

And I would like to announce that I'm a complete moron. I'm gonna guess you guys premix your colors so you have a dropper for each type of candle? It just hit me that pre-mixing my colors into various bottles would save me the strange ".83 drops of black" that I sometimes get.

You know, I'm having a tough time with liquids. I made big batches for my original production, and now when I go back to make smaller batches to fill my inventory, I'm getting calculations like ".78 drops" of a color. This is a problem. I'm almost wishing I'd stuck with flakes. Soooooo much easier to color! Love the ones from BCN.

Hi all, I'm trying one of Swift's recipes for a less greasy lotion, and I was wondering if I can sub out the hydrosol (10%) for anything else. They are expensive and I'm not finding a scent I'd want to use. Any suggestions?

Raising this recipe from the dead to ask about oil substitutions. Can sweet almond oil be subbed? I'm just learning about oils and I'd like one that is more prone to soak in as opposed to sit on top of the skin. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

It was hard not to laugh at one potential customer a few weeks ago who told me that ONLY Scentsy melts work in her Scentsy warmer, so she was sorry she couldn't try mine. I had quite the successful poker face while I thought - light bulb = heat, ceramic gets hot, wax melts, and scent is released.... Um.... So yes, Scentsy has AMAZING marketing. LOL!

And NOW I regret what I wrote about moving on. And about being gracious, come to think of it. I worked my TUSH off on my labels... I sweated for hours and days and weeks about the FONT for my logo. I went through hundreds of photos to find the PERFECT photo for each scent. And if someone just came along and wholesale "borrowed" the line, I'd be nasty upset. I was originally impressed the 'fessed up and took it down. Stupid me thought she'd go back to the drawing board and revamp. But NOOOOOO. So forget what I said about moving on. She's played unethically twice, now all bets are off. I'm sorry, Suzy. Go get her.

I'd love to see the ranting stop and either legal action be taken, or not. She owned up to it and yes, it sucks, but it's over. Either roast her at the stake or let's move on. We all put "copyright blah blah" but I'd guess VERY FEW actually have copyrights. No copyright, no legal recourse. Period. I'm sorry it happened, but I'm almost feeling more sorry for the woman who copied it. She took it down, she apologized, she feels bad, she had the balls to admit it was her quite gracefully, so let's moooooove onnnnnnnnnn...
